Devil’s Advocate Mission Guide: Start the Sequence Six Ship Combat in AC Black Flag
Devil’s Advocate is the twenty-third mission in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, and it’s also the second step of Sequence Six. It’s a mid-sequence pivot into coordinated ship combat and boarding, starting with a direct request for help and ending with you taking command of a famous vessel.
How to Start Devil’s Advocate
When you’re ready to begin, sail to the southeast of Cat Island and open your map to find the coordinates 760, 634. Head to Hornigold’s ship and dock alongside it. He explains that Blackbeard has struck a Man O’ War, and Edward agrees to help—meaning you’re tasked with protecting Blackbeard. Your next objective is to locate Queen Anne’s Revenge in the southeast at 849, 520.
As you near the target area, you won’t be able to rely on guidance to steer you in. Instead, switch to your Spyglass and track down Blackbeard’s ship off the coast of Mariguana Island. Once you reach the island, dock the Jackdaw and head ashore to assist.
Move in on where Blackbeard is clashing with the soldiers and help clear them out. After you survive the first push of enemies, a second wave will arrive—along with a ship—turning the skirmish into a transition toward the next phase.
At this point, you’ll need to take control of Queen Anne’s Revenge. Before you depart, it’s worth grabbing a Viewpoint in the east. There’s also a Data File you can pick up before climbing up there, which you can use to tidy up collectibles when you return later.
Once you’re operating Queen Anne’s Revenge, your job is to attack nearby ships. Keep your focus on the HMS Burford. You can largely ignore the smaller boats since they won’t threaten you as much, but the Burford is a different story—it can chew through your health fast if you stay careless.
Eventually, you’ll run out of ammo and the game will cue you to ram the target ship. Head toward the side of it so you can board. After you get aboard, you’ll be prompted to bring down the captain. Defeat the captain to finish the mission.
