Having farm animals is a major part of gameplay, and you’ll need a Barn in Moonlight Peaks to house them. The game also includes romance candidates (with options shown in the game), but the Barn is tied directly to the farming loop—starting as soon as you secure one.

How to unlock the Barn for purchase

1. Day 2 of Spring, Year 1: Ridge appears outside your door, standing near your airy and busted roof. He offers to fix the roof for free if you provide 50 Wood.
2. Get the 50 Wood: Use your Axe from the Tool Wheel to cut down trees around your farm.
3. Day 2 mailbox note: You’ll receive a note from Luna in your mailbox on Day 2. Read it to start the “Farm Animals for Sale” Quest.

5. Day 4: Your roof is fixed. Ridge is now located at the Howling Hammer. When you speak with him, choose “Shop”, then check the second tab for the Barn.
