That said, tracking it down isn’t always straightforward. Below is everything you need to know about obtaining a Butterfly in Grow a Garden 2.
Where to Get a Butterfly
In Grow a Garden 2, the Butterfly is classified as a Legendary pet. It can appear with a chance to spawn between you and the market arena located at the center of the map. Since it’s a Legendary, the spawn odds are low, but when it does show up, you’ll be able to purchase it for 1,000,000 Sheckles.
Once you add the Butterfly to your collection and have it as a party member, it boosts plant growth speed for everyone on your server by 3%. That team-wide benefit is why it’s such a strong pick for players who want faster output and better money generation over time.
Outside of simply waiting for it to spawn on your server, there isn’t another method to add the Butterfly to your party. However, there are a couple of approaches that can make it easier to notice when one appears. One option is to bring an Owl in your pet lineup. The Owl emits a sequence of “hoots” whenever a pet that is above the Rare tier spawns on your server.
While the Owl won’t reveal the exact pet type or its location, it does alert you that something eligible has spawned, giving you a better chance to be ready to buy it when the Butterfly (or another higher-rarity pet) appears.
You can also use the Pet Server Teleporter. This feature lets you spend Robux to jump to a different server that has a Legendary, Mythic, or Super rarity pet available. Since the Butterfly is a Legendary pet, you’d only need to spend 33 Robux to access a server where a Legendary might be present. Still, it’s important to note that this method does not guarantee the specific Butterfly—your result could be a different Legendary pet instead.
Because obtaining a Butterfly in your own world already has a low chance, spending Robux for a random outcome isn’t recommended. The Butterfly isn’t guaranteed via teleporting either, so paying for access still means you’re gambling on chance.
