Attack on Titan’s Next New Game Announced for This Winter
A fresh Attack on Titan release is set to arrive this winter. The manga wrapped up five years ago, and the anime’s fourth and final season finished in 2023, but the franchise’s popularity hasn’t cooled off. With the story already concluded, fans are still looking for ways to jump back into the world.
At Summer Game Fest 2026, it was revealed that a new Attack on Titan video game is currently in development. The project is titled Attack on Titan 3 and is being positioned as a follow-up to Omega Force’s Attack on Titan and Attack on Titan 2. Since Attack on Titan 2 debuted in 2018, a lot of players assumed a third entry would never happen—but now it’s officially on the way, with a window that’s clear enough to plan around.
Each of the nine Titans in Attack on Titan is said to bring its own signature capabilities, making every encounter feel distinct and potentially dangerous.
Attack on Titan 3 Gameplay Trailer
Not long after Attack on Titan 3 was announced, publisher Koei Tecmo confirmed that an Attack on Titan Scouting Report event would run in July. During that event, a gameplay trailer for Attack on Titan 3 was shown, and the team also reiterated that the game launches this winter. No exact release day has been provided yet.
That said, the timing suggests a launch sometime between December of this year and February of next year. There’s also a chance it could slide into early March, though that part is still unconfirmed.

Attack on Titan 3 is planned to retell the anime’s story from start to finish. Players will be able to build a custom character and then interact with several of the series’ best-known figures, including Eren Yeager and Levi Ackerman. The game also leans into social play, letting players take part in one-on-one conversations with characters and even give them gifts.
Even with the character interactions highlighted, the emphasis remains on action. The expectation is that combat and gameplay set pieces will be a constant presence throughout the experience.
It may also be worth a look for anime fans who don’t usually pay much attention to video game adaptations. Attack on Titan 3 has been confirmed to include a brand-new opening animation created by MAPPA, with Arifumi Imai directing. The original opening animation won’t be available at launch, but it will be added later for free through a post-release update.
