PS5 Beats Xbox for GTA 6 on Amazon Best-Sellers, Rumors Spark Debate
Fresh weekend chatter claimed the PlayStation 5 version of GTA 6 is moving far faster than the Xbox release—some estimates put the gap at about eight copies on PS5 for every one on Xbox. Even after Xbox pushed back on those claims, Amazon’s daily best-sellers chart is giving the rumor a lot of support.
Amazon’s Best-Sellers Show PS5 Is Far Ahead of Xbox
Right now, the PS5 edition of GTA 6 sits at number 13 in the site’s video games department best-sellers list. It was at number 4 just the day before, and since pre-orders opened it has remained inside the top 20. That’s a notable run for a title that’s only been on the chart for roughly a week, especially considering many buyers likely grabbed physical copies almost immediately once pre-orders went live.
Meanwhile, the Xbox version doesn’t appear anywhere within Amazon’s best-selling video game items at all. It’s worth clarifying that this list is focused on video game-related products rather than every type of item sold on the store—so it can include games, consoles, accessories, and even gift cards. That category mix is why a smaller item like a $10 Roblox gift card can regularly land at or near the top.
North American retailer VGP is also reportedly not stocking boxed copies of GTA 6 code due to company policy.
The Amazon chart is updated every day, and while it would be reasonable to expect the Xbox version to place lower than the PS5 one, the fact that it shows no presence at all in the top 100 is the part that raises eyebrows. That absence adds weight to the idea that there’s a major difference between PS5 and Xbox sales performance.
What Else Is Outselling the Xbox Version Right Now
