Sanctum of Revelation Guide: Puzzle Locations, Rewards, and Witch Quest Gear

In the world of Pywel within Crimson Desert, the Sanctum of Revelation is one of the major puzzle sites tied to the Witch faction storyline. If you’re trying to progress “The Witch of Strength,” this sanctum is worth your time—not just for the challenge, but for the blueprint and gear rewards you can secure along the way.

Sanctum of Revelation overview

The Sanctum of Revelation sits along the southern edge of The Crimson Desert, nearly reaching Deleysian territory. This guide will walk you through what you need to unlock the sanctum, where it is located, how to cleanse it, how to obtain the Core of Revelation, and what loot you can leave with after you’re done.

Before you can even approach the cleansing process, you’ll want to be ready for a Witch faction requirement, a specific set of abilities and items gained through the main story, and at least one Abyss-related area of interest in the surrounding region. Once those pieces are lined up, the rest is about defeating the right Antumbra champion and completing the ancient machine puzzle that powers the sanctum’s core mechanic.

Sanctum of Revelation prerequisites

You can only access the Sanctum of Revelation after starting “The Witch of Strength,” a quest chain for the Witch faction that involves Areciel the Witch. You’ll meet Areciel after giving a coin to a beggar near Tommaso. From there, the sanctum itself becomes part of your progression.

To cleanse the sanctum, you’ll also need the Axiom Force and the Kuku Pot. Both are acquired through the main story, so make sure your run has reached the point where those tools are available before you plan to tackle this location.

Where to find the Sanctum of Revelation

The Sanctum of Revelation is located on an island in Demeniss Port, right at the border between Demeniss and Delesyia. If you’re navigating by nearby travel points, the closest Abyss Nexus lies just to the west across the water.

There are also two Abyss Cressets to the south, and both are quick solutions once you know what they’re asking for:

  • At Thunderwater Falls, simply land on the cliff located between the two waterfalls.
  • At Bamboo Forest Seonangdang Ruins, stack three rocks on the rock pile in front of the Cresset, placing them from largest to smallest.

How to cleanse the Sanctum of Revelation

Cleansing the Sanctum of Revelation requires two steps: first, defeat Antumbra’s Spear, and second, liberate the sanctum from the Antumbra Order. Once Antumbra’s influence is cleared, you’ll be able to begin the Witch of Strength cleansing sequence.

Antumbra’s Spear plays similarly to other Antumbra champions, so many of the same combat tactics you’ve already used against that roster will apply here. The main speed-up comes from Nature’s Insight, which creates a reliable opening. Use Nature’s Insight to block Antumbra’s Spear’s melee attacks, then each time you successfully do that, follow up with Force Palm to build the stun gauge. When you stagger him, capitalize immediately by rushing in with a Turning Slash to land significant damage.

After the sanctum is liberated, you can start cleansing it for the Witch of Strength. The core task is to locate and place two missing blocks into an ancient machine positioned on the south side of the ruins. One block is the top section of a broken column. The other is a power cell that’s missing from the central kiln structure.

The first block can be found on a ledge just above the machine. Look up and to the east, and you’ll spot it overhead.

The second block is stored inside a sealed chamber. You can only reach it by crumbling the ceiling. Head up onto the small building on the south side of the ruins, then let the floor beneath you cave in. Once you’re down, you can jump to position yourself and seal the second block into your Kuku Pot.

With both pieces secured, insert them into the ancient machine using Force Palm. The machine should immediately begin to hum to life, but there’s an important catch: you aren’t done yet.

How to get the Core of Revelation

Once the machine is powered, its front panel activates. From there, you can use Blinding Flash to cast light into the large crystal located in the center. Around that crystal is a ring of gems that starts spinning clockwise.

Your job is timing-based: flash the light so you activate the small gems while dodging the blank gaps in the ring. The moment your timing is correct, the machine’s behavior changes.

Flash your blade as the central line sweeps across the small gems, and then stop flashing when the line moves over blank spaces. When you flash again, lead your timing slightly, since it takes about half a second for the light to actually reach the gem. Each gem only needs a quick tap of the button—no long holds required.

After you successfully activate the machine, the panel shifts position, and the top of it releases a Core of Revelation. Grab that core using Axiom Force and seal it into your Kuku Pot. These cores can be used in certain Kuku Blueprints, which is why the whole sequence matters even if you’re focused on puzzle completion rather than combat.

Treasure in the Sanctum of Revelation

Completing the cleansing of the Sanctum of Revelation earns you the blueprint for the Kuku Flamespitter, and it also moves you one step closer to finishing “The Witch of Strength.” In other words, the sanctum isn’t just a side objective—it directly feeds into your Witch progression and your crafting options.

Once you defeat Antumbra’s Spear, you can also pick up the Thorn of Dark Pursuit. It’s located on a stand inside the building just south of the device that provides the Core of Revelation. You can spot it more easily because it’s marked by a white haze on the minimap.

The Thorn of Dark Pursuit comes with Warden of Darkness Abyss Gear. With that gear, you’ll be able to summon spectral knights when you defeat a weakened enemy.

Note: If you want more help squeezing value out of your time in Crimson Desert, there are additional guides available that cover what to do early, essential tips and tricks, and things the game doesn’t clearly explain.

Up next, the next sanctum puzzle solution is listed as the Sanctum of Solace puzzle walkthrough. If you’re using this as part of a broader guide sequence, you may want to continue in that order—especially if you’re still working through the Witch-related content.
