Zelda’s 2026 Lineup: Two Big Releases Still on the Way, Fans Can’t Wait

The Legend of Zelda has been riding a strong wave for the better part of a decade, carrying momentum from the launch of Tears of the Kingdom all the way to the arrival of the latest LEGO Ocarina of Time set earlier this year. For a series that traditionally takes its time between major entries—at least in the past—it can feel like there’s always some new Zelda-branded release landing every few months. 2026 continues that trend, with plenty of reasons for fans to stay glued to their feeds, though the largest Zelda releases from this year are still waiting in the wings.

Legend of Zelda Gets the Remake Treatment on Switch 2

There’s arguably no bigger 2026 release than The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake. After months of rumors, Nintendo finally confirmed it during the June Nintendo Direct, using a very pared-down trailer. Even with the reveal, players didn’t get any real look at gameplay, on-screen UI, or much of the overall visual identity—aside from a quick glimpse of child Link in his Kokiri Forest home. Still, the lack of detail likely means more is coming soon, and fans may not have to wait too long since The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake is aiming for a 2026 release.

With lots of major games in 2026 steering clear of Grand Theft Auto 6 and, in turn, avoiding a crowded September lineup, this OoT remake feels like the kind of title that could stake a claim for November. Of course, it’s always possible Nintendo shifts the schedule—especially given the current limited information surrounding the release window—but for now it remains one of the most anticipated games still on track to arrive in 2026.

Alongside The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake, Nintendo is also set to put another Zelda release on the calendar later this year. While it may not carry the same “must-play” energy as a remake of one of gaming’s most revered classics, there are still plenty of players who’ll be eager to see what it brings.

Mineru’s Construct Gets the Nintendo Amiibo Treatment

In September, Nintendo will release the Mineru’s Construct Amiibo. Tears of the Kingdom players will already recognize the character’s Construct as one of the standout Zonai creations in that game. Nintendo held back on introducing the Construct until later—depending on how you played—so for many people it landed as a genuine surprise and a frequent highlight when it finally became available. Since Mineru’s Construct is such a cool, unexpected moment, it makes sense that Nintendo didn’t rush to pair it with the launch of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Now that more time has passed, the Amiibo has room to take center stage.

Zelda fans also got to spend additional time with Mineru and learn more about her background through Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment, the Dynasty Warriors-style hack-and-slash spin-off that launched last year. And for anyone picking up the Mineru’s Construct Amiibo, it will provide access to special items across Breath of the Wild, Tears of the Kingdom, and Age of Imprisonment.

For years, new The Legend of Zelda releases felt like once-in-a-generation events. These days, Nintendo has settled into a steadier rhythm that keeps the franchise fresh in players’ minds—somewhat like how Pokémon stays visible through constant updates, spin-offs, and branded extras. In the meantime, the main development team works on the next step after Tears of the Kingdom, which has been described as another meaningful shift for the series.

Identify the silhouettes before time runs out.

There have already been plenty of strong Zelda moments recently, and 2026 could end up being one of the best years for The Legend of Zelda in recent memory—even without a traditional mainline release. The Ocarina of Time LEGO set stands out as a more budget-friendly option with genuinely great minifigures. Mineru’s Construct Amiibo also fits the kind of distinctive, Nintendo-style figure that fans tend to love. And the Ocarina of Time Remake looks like a fitting capstone to The Legend of Zelda’s 40th anniversary year.

But the plans don’t end there. Next year brings a Legend of Zelda live-action movie, a project that’s been in motion for a long time. On top of that, at least one more LEGO Zelda set has been rumored to be in the works.
