Vin Diesel’s Fast & Furious 11 Hype Clarified as Production Still Delayed
A video posted last week featuring Vin Diesel dressed as Dominic Toretto—posed in front of the character’s signature black 1970 Dodge Charger R/T—made it look like production on Fast & Furious 11 (officially titled Fast Forever) had finally started for real. However, fresh reporting suggests that isn’t the situation.
Last Friday, Diesel uploaded a video message to his Instagram account, using it to thank fans for their patience as the final chapter of the long-running Fast & Furious franchise approaches.
“I’m on set,” Diesel said in the behind-the-scenes clip. “People are grinding. Incredible crews are working. I wanted to take a second to say thank you. You guys are the best audience in the world; best fans in the world. You’ve been patient to the industry, you’ve been patient to the studio, and you’ve been patient with me.”
He continued: “Over the past three and a half years we’ve been grinding to try to make the most amazing finale… I can feel your support, and that means the world to me. So, let me get back to this filming, and just know that I hope to make you all proud.”
Still, once the weekend rolled around, it started to look like the “filming” Diesel referenced may have been connected to a promotional spot tied to the World Cup, which ran in the US during the US vs. Belgium match.
Universal Studios has declined to comment on the matter.
Fast Forever is the long-delayed—yet long-promoted as final—entry in the Fast & Furious movie series. It’s set to arrive in theaters on Friday, March 17, 2028. Universal confirmed both the title and release date earlier this year, and beyond that, very little is currently known. The project also has no confirmed cast at this time.
