Tottenham Lose Mykhailo Mudryk to Ankle Injury Until October
Tottenham will be without Mykhailo Mudryk until at least October after the winger suffered an ankle problem in training, only days after ending a 22-month absence from competitive football.
Mudryk returned in Saturday’s goalless Premier League draw with Nottingham Forest, his first match since completing a ban following an adverse meldonium finding. His comeback has now been interrupted by an injury described by Roberto De Zerbi as particularly frustrating.

De Zerbi said the setback came from an ordinary moment on the training pitch, with no tackle or unusual movement involved. Mudryk felt pain in his ankle and a scan two days later confirmed the extent of the problem.
The Tottenham coach called it a “stupid injury”, while stressing that the club understood Mudryk’s return to regular football could take time when he was signed. De Zerbi said the player had already endured enough and that Spurs had lost an important option.
There is better news over Maddison, who is fit for the visit of Everton. De Zerbi confirmed the playmaker can feature and said he could also be deployed from the left side.
Richarlison’s position remains unresolved as the Brazilian forward considers his future before Brazil’s transfer window shuts on Friday. De Zerbi said any deal was not his decision, adding that Tottenham had done a great deal for the player over the previous two months.
Tottenham welcome Everton still seeking their first league goal and victory of the campaign. They then travel to Liverpool for an EFL Cup tie on Tuesday before returning home to face Aston Villa, with Mudryk unavailable for that demanding run of fixtures.
