Both Italian clubs explored a deal during the summer window but were unable to complete an agreement. Their interest followed Real Madrid’s decision to allow Franco Mastantuono to join Fiorentina, a move which had suggested that a temporary exit could be possible for young players in the Madrid squad.
Endrick has since struggled to establish himself in Jose Mourinho’s plans. Although the Madrid coach had indicated that the 20-year-old would have opportunities, the forward’s only outing of the campaign was a four-minute substitute appearance in the 3-2 win over Elche.
He has remained unused on the bench for three other fixtures and has been absent for another four because of injury. The limited involvement has intensified concern over a player who is regarded as an important long-term option for Brazil.
Brazil coach Carlo Ancelotti has voiced his concern that young South American players can see their progress stall after joining major European clubs too early. He pointed to Endrick and Estevao as examples, arguing that talented players cannot properly develop without consistent match minutes.
Ancelotti believes Endrick can become a significant player for Brazil, but has stressed that the forward needs a club situation in which he is playing regularly rather than waiting for occasional opportunities.

Endrick has already demonstrated the benefit of sustained football away from Madrid. During a loan spell with Lyon in January 2026, he returned eight goals and eight assists across 21 competitive appearances.
That spell has strengthened the appeal of another temporary move, with the forward increasingly keen to find the same rhythm elsewhere. Roma and Milan are now assessing fresh proposals for the winter market as they look to take advantage of his frustration over a lack of minutes.
