Red Dead Online Bounty Hunter Bonuses Now Live: Money, XP & Discounts
Red Dead Online is rolling out a new limited-time bonus program focused on Bounty Hunter missions, giving players a reason to jump back into the role and stack up extra rewards. The event’s perks range from increased Red Dead Online money and XP to discounts on bounty-related purchases and gear.
Even with new content arriving less often than players would like, Red Dead Online still runs regular promotions that encourage different kinds of play. The game has ongoing event formats that hand out bonuses for completing specific objectives—for example, the Naturalist event asks players to both locate and kill a selection of rare animals. Featured Series events also rotate different mission types and challenges, frequently rewarding participation with extra benefits. This time, the game is shifting attention to Bounty Hunters and offering standout incentives for tracking down wanted targets.
The CEO of Take-Two Interactive has also voiced praise for Red Dead Online and the wider franchise, even though the title faced a notable downturn in 2022.

Red Dead Online is kicking off summer with a Bounty Hunter-focused set of bonuses. During the event, players can earn triple rewards by completing Bounty Hunter Free Roam missions, boosting what they earn in Red Dead Online money, XP, Role XP, and Gold. The promotion also includes a broad set of discounts for bounty-related items and upgrades, such as waiving the cost for Persistent Posse Setup, cutting Bounty Hunter license pricing by 5 gold, and letting players claim a free Bounty Hunter wagon. The event began on June 30 and will run until August 3.
More bonuses beyond the payout
Red Dead Online’s new Bounty Hunter incentives offer more than just bigger numbers on mission completion. Players will see discounts on a range of hunting and pursuit gear, including 50% off bolas, throwing knives, and repeaters. Those in the market for a new mount can also grab a Breton Horse at the same reduced rate, with the horse available for half price throughout the event.
Rockstar is also adding limited-time cosmetics alongside the functional discounts. The event includes community-inspired outfit pieces and special anniversary clothing as part of its rotating wardrobe offerings.
Support for Red Dead Online has wound down in recent years. Rockstar kept backing the game for three years following launch, and in 2022 it confirmed there would be no additional major updates. Even so, the studio later released the Strange Tales of the West expansion in July 2025, which brought multiple paranormal missions—featuring encounters that include robots, a swamp monster, and zombies.

The shift away from ongoing Red Dead Online support also lines up with Rockstar preparing its next major release in its top franchise. Grand Theft Auto 6 is scheduled to launch on November 19, returning players to Vice City for the first time since 2006’s GTA: Vice City Stories. Fan and critic excitement has already been substantial: GTA 6 won “Most Anticipated Game” at The Game Awards two years in a row, and it generated more than $1 billion in revenue within an hour of pre-orders going live. With GTA 6 poised to reshape expectations, Red Dead fans are left waiting to see what comes next for the franchise.
