Barcelona’s victory at the Sánchez-Pizjuán extended their league winning run to seven matches, with Raphinha’s hat-trick deciding a demanding night against Sevilla and Fermín López marking his return to Spain’s squad.
Fermín, who comes from nearby El Campillo and developed at La Masia, has been selected by Luis de la Fuente for Spain’s forthcoming Nations League fixtures. The call-up carries particular significance for the 23-year-old midfielder after a physical problem ruled him out of the 2026 World Cup during the summer.

Raphinha reaches 12 goals in seven games
The standout performer in Seville was Raphinha, whose three goals broke down Sevilla’s resistance. The Brazilian has increasingly operated through central areas under Hansi Flick rather than remaining in his more familiar wide role.
That adjustment has brought remarkable early returns. Raphinha now has 12 goals from seven appearances and has moved to the front of the early race for the Pichichi award.
Fermín praised his teammate’s ability to adapt, describing Raphinha as Barcelona’s surprise centre-forward. He noted that the forward had not previously played regularly as a number nine but was producing exceptional scoring figures in the role, with the side creating opportunities for him to finish.
High pressing rewarded in Seville
Barcelona were made to work for the points by a Sevilla side backed by an intense home atmosphere. Fermín said the hosts applied significant pressure at their stadium, but stressed that Raphinha’s three-goal display proved decisive.
The midfielder also outlined the demands placed on the squad by Flick: sustained intensity and an immediate high press whenever possession is lost.
The result was Barcelona’s eighth successive win in all competitions. Their domestic schedule now pauses for the international break, with the Catalan club not due to return until October 10, when Getafe visit in their next fixture.
