Palworld Guide: How to Earn Ancient Technology Points by Defeating Bosses
In Palworld, Ancient Technology Points are earned primarily by taking down bosses. You can gain these points from both overworld bosses and tower bosses, but the overworld variety hands out far more Ancient Technology Points. Bosses located inside dungeons don’t count for this purpose, and you can only claim Ancient Technology Points once per world boss or once per tower boss. If you want the quickest route, prioritize tower bosses—each one you defeat grants five points.
If you’re having trouble finding Pals with rare Rainbow Passive Skills, this guide is aimed at making that grind feel more manageable.
How to Get Ancient Technology Points Fast in Palworld
Unlike most other resources in Palworld, you don’t really “farm” Ancient Technology Points in a repeatable way. Your pace depends on your strength and how capable your Pals are. Bosses aren’t typically considered the hardest encounters in the game, but they hit aggressively, and it’s easy to get overwhelmed if your setup isn’t ready.
The Tower of the Rayne Syndicate is the first tower you’ll run into, and it contains your initial tower boss fight against Zoey and Grizzbolt. They’re level 10, so their level is a useful benchmark for how prepared you should be. Before you take them on, it’s recommended that you craft a Crossbow, bring up a strong combat-oriented Pal, and make sure you’re wearing upgraded armor.
After you beat Zoey and Grizzbolt, you’ll walk away with multiple rewards plus five Ancient Technology Points. You’ll also receive a hint pointing toward where the next tower boss can be found. However, because that next tower is located farther away, it’s smart to keep clearing world bosses while you work your way toward your next tower objective.
Before tackling any boss, it’s worth bringing Pals that cover more than one element. In the Zoey and Grizzbolt fight specifically, include a Ground-type Pal, since they have strong matchups into Electric-type Pals.
World Bosses
Any enemy with its own portrait marker displayed on your map counts as a world boss (as shown in the image referenced in the original guide). When you defeat one of these bosses for the first time, you earn one Ancient Technology Point.
World bosses are generally simpler to take down than tower bosses, and they’re often less durable. Some world bosses, such as Pengking located northwest of the starting area, require portal access that takes you into a dungeon. Others, like the level 11 Chillet in the starting region, are found by roaming the area without needing special entry.
World bosses can also be captured and later used as friendly Pals that will assist you in work and combat. They tend to be strong, which makes them good investments. Once you get comfortable with breeding in Palworld, you can build a lineup of extremely powerful companions—ones that can outperform many Wild Pals once your breeding strategy is in place.
