Palworld 1.0 Roars Back to Big Steam Concurrent Peak After Full Launch
Palworld version 1.0 has quickly become one of the standout games of July, with Pocketpair sharing the game’s latest peak concurrent player numbers on Steam shortly after the full release. The spike comes as players return to the Palpagos Islands to check what’s new in the open-world survival crafting experience following its earlier access period.

Palworld officially leaving early access comes after two years of development under the early access banner. During that time, Pocketpair kept expanding the game with additional Pals for players to discover and new islands to explore. With the 1.0 update, the game adds new islands, weapons, Pals, and other additions intended to round out the experience as a complete release.
Because of the scope of changes made between early access and 1.0, Pocketpair also asked players to consider starting a fresh save file. The idea was to let people experience the updated world and systems from the beginning, rather than carrying over older progress that might not reflect everything new in the full version.
In a separate development, Pocketpair has filed a new Palworld trademark, a move that has already triggered speculation in the community. The chatter centers on the possibility of a shift toward a more multiplayer-forward direction going forward.
Palworld 1.0’s Steam momentum: 850K+ on July 12
After the launch of Palworld 1.0 and the large set of adjustments included with the upgrade, Steam players returned to the Palpagos Islands in force. Pocketpair said that on Sunday, July 12, Palworld reached more than 850,000 concurrent players on Steam.
Pocketpair also framed the timing as part of the early post-launch picture: this level was reached just two days after Palworld 1.0 was released across all platforms. Pocketpair’s publishing and communications lead, John “Bucky” Buckley, followed up with the claim that Palworld 1.0 has a 93.41% positive rating on Steam.
As of the time of reporting, the Steam concurrent count was described as having eased slightly from the peak. Pocketpair did not provide player count figures for other platforms mentioned for the game, including PS5 and Xbox Game Pass, leaving the broader cross-platform picture incomplete.
Even with 850,000 concurrent players being a major headline number, it’s worth noting that Palworld still holds a higher all-time Steam peak from its early access launch. That original debut in January 2024 reportedly topped out at more than 2.1 million players.
While the 1.0 Steam peak is under half of the earlier all-time record, the 24-hour peak for Palworld 1.0 has already pushed past several other Steam releases from the last month. The comparison set includes Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced and the indie hit Meccha Chameleon.
As of the same reporting window, Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced had an all-time Steam peak of 104,756 users, recorded on July 12. Meanwhile, Meccha Chameleon was described as reaching 340,534 peak concurrent Steam players a few days after its June 9 launch.
Beyond the update itself, the article points to Palworld’s pricing as a key driver for its Steam performance. In many cases, games raise prices when moving from early access to a full release, but Palworld 1.0 did not follow that pattern.
Pocketpair kept the MSRP at $29.99. However, Steam players can purchase the game for $20.99 until Thursday, July 23, which is presented as a 30% discount from the usual price.

Despite legal pressure—specifically, a lawsuit from Nintendo tied to some of the game’s features—Palworld hasn’t lost momentum on Steam or on other platforms. With Palworld now fully released, the next question for players is what Pocketpair plans to do to keep people engaged throughout 2026 and beyond.
