Onimusha: Way of the Sword Gets Earlier Release Date and Updated Pre-Orders

Capcom has pulled forward the launch schedule for Onimusha: Way of the Sword, moving it up by a few weeks, and it’s also redefining what pre-orders will get. Separately, Pragmata’s producer has shared that the sci-fi project was built by an all-female development team centered on Diana’s character.

Onimusha: Way of the Sword Launching Three Weeks Ahead of Time

Capcom’s next Onimusha entry is arriving sooner than planned. Onimusha: Way of the Sword will now release on Friday, September 4, which is three weeks earlier than the previously announced September 25 date. To confirm the change, Capcom posted a brief video that visually represented the shift from “25” to “4.”

With the earlier launch, Capcom says the pre-order incentives for Onimusha: Way of the Sword will change names and terms: they’ll be treated as early adopter bonuses instead. Those early adopter rewards include a Lion Dog Charm and a Sealed Curse Sword Appearance, and Capcom will make them available through September 25.

Capcom also noted that the game’s demo will be updated so it matches the new release timing and incorporates the revised early adopter bonus details.

Pragmata Development Team Details

Pragmata’s producer has revealed that the Capcom sci-fi game was developed by a fully female team, with the group’s work focused entirely on Diana’s character.
