MOZA Racing Launches R5 Pro Bundle Direct Drive Wheelbase Kit for Sim Racers

MOZA Racing has introduced the R5 Pro Bundle, a new Direct Drive wheelbase kit aimed at ambitious sim-racing newcomers who want a more immediate, physics-forward steering feel than controllers can deliver—while still keeping the door open for future upgrades across MOZA’s ecosystem.

Direct Drive at the center of the R5 Pro Bundle

At the heart of the package is a compact Direct Drive wheelbase designed to bring motor-driven forces straight to the wheel. MOZA rates the unit for a maximum torque of 6 Nm, positioning it to make curb impacts, traction loss, and counter-steering forces more noticeable during cornering.

MOZA also highlights internal sensing and control for responsiveness. The wheelbase uses a magnetic 21-bit encoder for precise steering input tracking, paired with a 1,000 Hz USB polling rate intended to reduce delay between your inputs and the PC. A 600 MHz processor handles control tasks, while MOZA’s NexGen Force Feedback 5.0 algorithm is used to relay simulation data to the wheel for earlier detection of handling changes—so players can react sooner.

For setup convenience, the bundle includes a desk clamp. The wheelbase is housed in an aluminum chassis and weighs 2.9 kg.

The ES Lite wheel and SR-P Lite2 pedals

MOZA bundles the 280 mm ES Lite steering wheel, built around an aluminum alloy frame. Despite the “Lite” branding, the wheel offers 22 programmable inputs. It also includes ten RGB LEDs, which can be used to indicate the ideal shift timing based on game telemetry.

The wheel’s shift paddles are made from aluminum, and a Quick Release system lets players detach the wheel from the wheelbase quickly.

Pedals are included as well: the SR-P Lite2 set uses high-strength steel construction and contactless Hall sensors. Players can adjust both pedal height and lateral position, while MOZA Pit House software allows further tuning through customizable pedal curves.

Through Pit House, users can manage and configure MOZA hardware in one place—covering Force Feedback and steering angle settings, LED configuration, preset management, and firmware updates. MOZA also notes that the SR-P Lite2 system can be expanded later with a separate clutch pedal and performance kits for brake, throttle, and clutch.

Built to grow: wheelbase, wheels, and cockpit upgrades later

MOZA’s upgrade path is not limited to the pedals. For stronger Force Feedback down the line, the company says players can move to higher-power wheelbases such as the R12 or R16.

Wheel compatibility is also presented as flexible: MOZA offers different steering wheel models and form factors depending on what players drive—GT cars, formula-style racers, and other categories.

For rally and drift-focused setups, MOZA states the ecosystem supports adding a separate shifter and a handbrake. More ambitious sim fans can also expand toward deeper cockpit integration, including adding a dashboard, upgrading to higher-end pedals, or eventually moving from desk mounting to a full sim rig.

The R5 Pro Bundle is positioned as a modular starting point, allowing players to begin with Direct Drive and then scale their hardware as their skills—and ambitions—grow.
