Mass Effect 3 Citadel Excursion 5 Checklist: Side Quests, Rewards, Order

Mass Effect 3’s fifth Citadel outing is all about wrapping up a final batch of errands: completing available side quests, turning in mission items, and tracking down the different squadmates and crew you can meet during this leg of the trip. If you’re trying to maximize rewards before moving on, this checklist-style run gives you the order you’ll want to follow and what you’ll earn each time you speak to the right person.

Dates, platforms, and editions

This guide content is for Mass Effect 3 and is presented as part of the game’s Citadel-side mission checklist. Rewards, prerequisites, and quest turn-ins referenced here are tied to the in-game sequence leading up to the next story step.

Structured item from the guide Details
Citadel excursion trigger “Priority: Horizon” is the next step after this checklist
Major prerequisite Complete “Priority: Rannoch” before starting this excursion
Search recommendation Conduct “Search and Rescue” first to gather War Assets and quest items for later Citadel side missions

Citadel Excursion 5

Before you head back to the Citadel, the guide strongly suggests doing some Search and Rescue first. The payoff is twofold: you’ll collect extra War Assets, and you’ll also obtain multiple quest items that you can use to complete Citadel side missions later on this checklist.

  • Prerequisite: Complete “Priority: Rannoch”
  • Location: Serpent Nebula – Widow – Citadel

You’ve already visited the Citadel plenty of times, so getting there shouldn’t be difficult. Still, the guide reminds you that it’s positioned in the Serpent Nebula, and the Citadel is the only major landmark in the Widow system (aside from the Mass Relay).

Prothean Sphere

Go through the security screening and push toward the far end of the area, near Cargo Hold: A. There, find the refugee speaking with a C-Sec officer. Talk to him to complete “Hades Nexus: Prothean Sphere”, earning 15,000 Credits, +5 Reputation, and +40 TMS for the Alliance Engineering Corps.

Code of the Ancients

After the elevator, head straight out and speak to the Angry Elcor stationed to your right. This finishes “Dekuuna: Code of the Ancients”, which grants 15,000 Credits, +5 Reputation, and +40 TMS to the Citadel Defense Force.

Rings of Alune

Immediately after exiting the elevator, turn right and talk to the Asari Consultant. Hand in “Silean Nebula: Rings of Alune” to complete the objective, earning 15,000 Credits, +5 Reputation, and +40 TMS for the Citadel Defense Force.

Chemical Treatment

Next, move through the security corridor toward the Inpatient Wing. Make a U-turn to your left and enter the side room. Speak with Salarian Dr. Silon to wrap up “Citadel: Chemical Treatment”, earning 30 XP, 1,000 Credits, +5 Reputation, and +8 TMS for the Alliance First Fleet.

Reaper Code Fragments

Head to the Asari War Strategist near the railing on your right and talk to her to complete “Citadel: Reaper Code Fragments”. If you didn’t pick it up during “Rannoch: Geth Fighter Squadrons”, you can purchase the item at Spectre Requisitions. Turning it in awards 30 XP, 1,000 Credits, +5 Reputation, and +8 TMS for the Asari Second Fleet.

Elcor Extraction

Move on to the Citadel Embassies. Speak to the Elcor Ambassador on your right to complete “Dekuuna: Elcor Extraction”, granting 120 XP and +5 Reputation.

Hesperia-Period Statue

Go up to the top of the stairs and look to the right to find an Asari sitting on a couch. Talk to her to finish “Athena Nebula: Hesperia-Period Statue”, which awards 15,000 Credits, +5 Reputation, and +40 TMS for the Alliance Engineering Corps.

Obelisk of Karza

At the bottom of the stairs leading to Appolo’s Cafe, you’ll find a man in a white outfit. Talk to him to complete “Hades Nexus: Obelisk of Karza”, earning +5 Reputation and 15,000 Credits, and adding +40 TMS to the Alliance Engineering Corps.

Target Jamming Technology

Now head to the left side of Apollo’s Cafe and speak to the C-Sec officer standing next to the burnt vending machine. This turns in “Citadel: Target Jamming Technology”, rewarding 30 XP, 1,000 Credits, +5 Reputation, and +8 TMS for the Citadel Defense Force.

Kakliosaur Fossil

After that, go to the Apartments area and climb the stairs on the right. At the top, talk to the Salarian War Strategist to hand in “Citadel: Kakliosaur Fossil”, earning 15,000 Credits, +5 Reputation, and +40 TMS for Krogan Clans.
