Before We Begin
This assignment can feel a bit more involved than many others, because you’re effectively able to interact with both sides. However, the payoffs for those different approaches are not the same.
To help you maximize what you get out of this assignment, deliver the packages one at a time rather than trying to move both through the story immediately. That choice gives you more control over how you end the mission and ensures you can squeeze out the best possible rewards.
One more wrinkle: the Dialogue Wheels can behave a little oddly, in a way that resembles Mass Effect 1. Information-revealing options sometimes sit in the same group as options that actually move the conversation forward. If you’re trying to see everything, pay close attention to the dialogue prompts and what each selection is intended to do.
Travel to Sahrabarik
- Location: Omega Nebula – Sahrabarik – Omega – Lower Afterlife
This assignment is available right from the start of the game and takes place in the Sahrabarik system within the Omega Nebula. Once you arrive, land, and get set up, you’re ready to begin the mission’s routine—go in, follow the trail, and handle the required interactions.
If you haven’t already done any mining in the Sahrabarik system, the guide points out the following detail that may be useful going in:
Recommended Loadout
- Jacob and Miranda will have unique dialogue during this assignment, tied to their past involvement with Ish as described in Mass Effect Galaxy.
Meet Ish
When you’re on Omega, head to the plaza area outside Afterlife, then turn right and continue toward the door on the right-hand side. You’ll find two Salarians there; one of them is named Ish. Talk to him.
Whichever route you take—selecting the top-right or bottom-right options—will move the assignment forward.
- When the option appears in the bottom-left, choose “I don’t trust you” to pull more information, since “About Ish” still advances the conversation. Yes, it’s strange.
- The same idea applies if you see “How would we do that?” in the top-right. Again, it’s odd, but it works.
As long as you avoid picking “Let’s go” or “Not interested,” you’ll accept the assignment. If you do decline, you can still speak with Ish again later to accept it, so you’re not permanently locked out.
Get Citadel Package
- Location: Serpent Nebula – Widow – Citadel – Zakera Level 26 – Saronis Applications
The Citadel package is on Zakera Level 26, which is the bottom floor of Zakera Ward. Move to the southeastern corner of the level, then look for Saronis Applications. The package itself is a Datapad placed on cube crates beside the entrance area.
Deliver First Package
After you retrieve the first package, return to Omega and deliver it to Ish. Because this is only the first drop-off, the reward is limited: you’ll receive 1,125 credits and you won’t gain any Morality Points. The larger set of rewards comes after you deliver the second package.
NOTICE
Avoid selecting “The stolen data” during this part. That choice commits you to a route you may not want yet—and it can reduce or eliminate future rewards tied to this assignment.
Alright—time to track down the second package.
Get Illium Package
- Location: Crescent Nebula – Tasale – Illium – Eternity Bar
The Illium package is located in the Eternity Bar. Illium sits in the northeastern portion of the Nos Astra area, which is directly east of where you arrive on the Normandy. Once you’re inside the bar, walk toward the back area and find the Datapad on a black-and-cream couch positioned in the back-left corner.
Deliver Second Package
Now you’ll need to go back to Omega and decide what to do with the second package. Your choices are as follows:
- Go to Ish
- Deliver the second Package to Ish (40 XP, 3,375 credits and +5 Renegade Points).
- Persuade Ish to leave Omega (40 XP, 3,375 credits and no Morality Points).
- Go to Anto
This approach lets you hand Ish over to Anto (+5 Paragon / Renegade Points). After that, you can:
- Make Anto pay you for your silence (40 XP and 2,250 credits).
- Give the info to Anto for free (NO XP or credits).
- Deliver the second Package to Ish (40 XP, 3,375 credits and +5 Renegade Points).
- Persuade Ish to leave Omega (40 XP, 3,375 credits and no Morality Points).
- Make Anto pay you for your silence (40 XP and 2,250 credits).
- Give the info to Anto for free (NO XP or credits).
Go to Ish
If you choose to visit Ish, the walkthrough lists several ways to finish the assignment.
- The most direct solution is to hand over the second package to Ish. In that case, he gives you 3,375 credits, 40 XP, and +5 Renegade Points. If you’re playing a Renegade run, this is the best pick because it offers the highest rewards.
- If you go for the left-side dialogue option “The stolen data,” you’ll unlock extra responses:
- Selecting any of the right-hand options at any time sends you back to the original dialogue wheel, forcing you to either leave or ultimately hand over the second package to Ish.
- You can safely choose “You sure this is safe?” in the top-left, since it only reveals additional information.
- If you select “What are you after?” or “You sure about that?”, you’ll unlock the following Persuasion choices. Neither of these grants any Morality Points:
- Pick “Give it up, Ish” to Charm him into leaving Omega for 40 XP and 3,375 credits (and no Paragon Points).
- Pick “You betrayed Jacob” to Intimidate Ish into leaving Omega for 40 XP and 3,375 credits (and no Renegade Points).
- Selecting any right-hand option at any time returns you to the earlier dialogue wheel, again leaving you to either walk away or deliver the second package to Ish.
- “You sure this is safe?” in the top-left is still safe, because it only adds some extra information.
- If you pick “What are you after?” or “You sure about that?”, you’ll again unlock the same Persuasion options (with no Morality Points):
- “Give it up, Ish” to Charm him into leaving Omega for 40 XP and 3,375 credits (no Paragon Points).
- “You betrayed Jacob” to Intimidate him into leaving Omega for 40 XP and 3,375 credits (no Renegade Points).
- Choose “Give it up, Ish” to Charm him into leaving Omega for 40 XP and 3,375 credits (and no Paragon Points).
- Choose “You betrayed Jacob” to Intimidate Ish into leaving Omega for 40 XP and 3,375 credits (and no Renegade Points).
Go to Anto
Your other route is to speak with Anto, one of Aria’s personal guards. He’s posted in Afterlife, standing at the bottom of the right-side stairs that lead up toward Omega.
If you decide to go to Anto, the guide explains you can complete the assignment by selecting “Do you know Ish?” and then “He’s selling your secrets.” From there, you’ll be offered the following:
- Choose the “This is bad for Aria” Charm option for +5 Paragon Points. If you’re running Paragon, this is the only way to earn Paragon Points from this assignment.
- Choose the “Aria wouldn’t be happy” Intimidate option for +5 Renegade Points.
After that, you’ll still need to decide how to end the confrontation.
- If you pick either “Just be careful” or “Take care of Ish,” the assignment ends with no extra rewards—this also means you’re locked out of XP and credits.
- If you choose “Pay me for my silence,” you’ll get 40 XP and 2,250 credits. The guide notes this can result in more credits than you’d usually receive by the end. It also doesn’t award any Morality Points, so Paragon-focused players can take this option without worrying about losing out on their alignment objectives.
