How to Start Terrydactyland: Next Challenge After 20 Jiggies

It’s time to go prehistoric. If you’ve already collected at least 20 Jiggies, return to Master Jiggywiggy’s Temple and start the next Challenge. Fit the 13 puzzle pieces into place, then get ready for Terrydactyland—an area packed with dinosaurs and cavemen.

Getting to Terrydactyland

Start from the Jiggywiggy Temple in Wooded Hollow and head back toward Pine Grove. From there, Talon Torpedo the boulder in the water to the right.

Next, go through the Digger Tunnel and defeat Klungo again. After that, enter the Wasteland section of the Isle O’ Hags.

Boss Battle: Klungo (Multiply Phase)

Along with the magic potions he’s used earlier, Klungo can now multiply. As in the previous fight, you’ll need to hit him three times using any kind of egg. The complication this time is figuring out which Klungo is the real one.

  • As soon as Klungo starts multiplying, fire eggs at him right away.
  • No matter which Klungo you strike, the fight will reset to a single Klungo that hides behind his shield.
  • Stay alert for the potions he throws at you, then prepare to hit him again once he splits up.
  • To find the real Klungo, watch the group carefully: the true one is the last to move away from the spot where he multiplied.
  • When you spot the final mover, shoot that Klungo as quickly as you can.

After you win, activate the Wasteland Silo that’s nearby so it’s added to your fast-travel destination list.

Terrydactyland itself is located at the opposite end of the cave shaped like the Triceratops’ head.

Before heading inside, make sure you collect the Jinjo in the area.

Wasteland details, Mumbo’s magic, and the journey through Terrydactyland

In Wasteland, around the bend to the left, you’ll spot two figures that look like Jinjos at first glance. The one on the left is actually a Jinjo, while the other is a Minjo.

Mumbo Jumbo’s Skull: Enlarge

Grab the Glowbo from behind the Skull, then step inside. Take control of Mumbo and move immediately to the Mumbo Pad just outside his home. Mumbo will demonstrate his current “magic du’ jour” by Enlarging the stone steps leading across the dangerous bog to his doorway.

You’ll need this Enlarge magic two more times later: once to Enlarge the tiny dinosaur in the Styracosaurus Family Cave, and again to Enlarge Wumba’s Wigwam.

That wigwam size matters because you need to make Wumba turn Banjo and Kazooie into Daddy T-Rex—meaning the teepee has to be increased.

Depending on how you sequence your actions throughout Terrydactyland, you may find you have to Enlarge Wumba’s Wigwam, then come back later to shrink it back to normal size.

Humba Wumba’s Wigwam: T-Rex (Baby and Daddy T-Rex)

Work your way through the small red-lit tunnel behind Wumba’s Wigwam to locate a Glowbo resting on a ledge around the side of the cliff. Bring that Glowbo to Wumba, then jump into her magic pool.

Based on the current size of her teepee (as described by Mumbo), you’ll be transformed into one of two T-Rex sizes: a smaller form or the larger Daddy T-Rex form.

Both the tiny T-Rex and Daddy T-Rex have their own objectives. Because of that, the order you complete Terrydactyland tasks in may force you to return with Mumbo at least once or twice to adjust Wumba’s Wigwam size again.

Keep in mind that the small T-Rex can open doors marked with the T-Rex emblem, but he still needs to learn how to roar first. To unlock that ability, talk to a nearby Stegosaurus.

Terrydactyland Train Station

The local station isn’t too hard to find, though the area can feel confusing because many cave entrances look nearly identical. If you ever need a landmark, follow the cave that leads to the Train Station.

The Train Station Button is outside that cave. To reach it, go to the area with Wumba’s Wigwam and locate the button on a rock plateau near the long-necked Diplodocus at Dippy’s Pool.

Getting Around Terrydactyland

To move through the region efficiently, try memorizing the shapes and color patterns of the various entrances. That makes it easier to distinguish the Styraco dinosaur family cave from the train station and other ground-level zones.

One of Terrydactyland’s biggest hurdles is that some routes—like climbing up the mountain—are locked behind whether you own the Spring Step Shoes. Even simply navigating the ground level can be tricky when you’re playing as Banjo, since you can’t always jump to higher ledges easily. If you’re stuck, there’s usually an alternative route, such as using Banjo’s double-jump extension (spinning in midair) or having solo Kazooie float across to reach higher ground.
