How to Reach Howling Marshes in Moonlight Peaks (Quest Guide)

The Howling Marshes are a region in Moonlight Peaks, positioned just north of the main town and to the east of Moonlit Pines. If you’re following the Tension in the Crest Garden quest, you’ll be told to visit this marsh area, and there are two ways to get in. One entrance is located just east of Luna’s Seed Stall in Moonlit Pines, while the other leads into the Howling Marshes from Moonlight Peaks, just east of the Town Hall.

You can also farm rewards in the Howling Marshes by catching Skull Blobs and Critters using a Net. The Net is obtained in Moonlight Peaks—use the steps in this guide to track it down.

Where Are the Howling Marshes in Moonlight Peaks

If you want the quickest entry, take the road east of the Town Hall on the north side of Moonlight Peaks, then continue heading north. This route is shown on the map that comes before this section.

Another option is to approach from Moonlit Pines instead. Go to Luna’s Seed Stall in the northeast corner, then use the path that runs east to reach the Howling Marshes. There are a couple ways to reach the stall, but here’s a clear route you can follow:

  1. Start from your farm.
  2. Travel one screen to the east.
  3. Follow the path north to enter Moonlit Pines.
  4. Keep going north until you spot a bridge on your right, then cross it.
  5. After crossing, head north again to reach the seed stall.

What’s in the Howling Marshes

When you enter the Howling Marshes while working on the Tension in the Crest Garden quest, you’ll trigger a cutscene. That sequence advances the quest, letting you keep moving forward through the main story.

Still, the marshland isn’t only useful for story progress. It’s packed with harvestables, including Sugarbone and multiple types of flowers. Since selling harvestables is an excellent early-game money source, it’s smart to clear out the Howling Marshes before you move on to other areas.

Many harvestables can be processed at workstations such as Cooking Stations and Drying Racks. In most cases, the processed goods bring a higher selling price than the raw materials. As you unlock new workstations, make sure you get them set up, and build the habit of processing materials first—then sell the finished products.

You’ll also find Logan House in the Howling Marshes, along with a crypt that appears to be unavailable at first. There’s additionally a section to the north that doesn’t seem reachable during your initial visit, and it’s likely that later quests will revolve around getting into that area.
