Hello Kitty Island Adventure: How to Start Cafe Rush and Get Mini Chef’s Station

Hello Kitty Island Adventure’s City Town quest line continues with a cafe-focused task for Usahana, culminating in a reward that gives you your own Mini Chef’s Station and the crafting plans to build more.

Key takeaways

  • The “Cafe Rush” quest becomes available after you reach Best Friends status with Usahana by hitting Friendship Level 35.
  • “Cafe Rush” requires you to complete 15 orders at the Imagination Cafe.
  • To speed up the order count, you can set a simple item in the cafe’s glass case and designate it as the Daily Special.
  • After finishing the 15 orders, Usahana rewards you with Mini Chef’s Station crafting plans plus one completed Mini Chef’s Station.
  • You don’t need to craft the Mini Chef’s Station during the quest, but the guide provides the recipe and where to build it.

How to unlock “Cafe Rush”

“Cafe Rush” is a quest located in Hello Kitty Island Adventure’s City Town. It unlocks once you’ve reached Friendship Level 35 with Usahana—also referred to as Best Friends—after completing her earlier quest “Yes, Chef.” You also need to have finished “The Right Tools” and its “Mini Mode” setup, which enables the creation of miniature crafting stations that you can customize to your liking.

Complete 15 Cafe Orders

To start the quest objective, talk to Usahana. She’s often waiting outside the Imagination Cafe, though if she isn’t there, you can check the entrance near the City Town Dock or look around the exterior area by Rainbow Tower on the west side of town.

Usahana explains she has a surprise, but only after you complete a specific challenge: finish 15 orders at the Imagination Cafe. Here’s how to handle the orders efficiently:

  • Go into the Imagination Cafe, head to the computer, and choose “Open Cafe.”
  • Serve 15 customers by delivering the exact food item each customer requests. When you’re ready to hand it over, select “I’ve got that right here.” If an order requires you to go to the Chef’s Station to cook it, you can tell the customer “I’m working on it,” and they’ll wait.
  • Keep in mind that customers will request the Daily Special more often, making the quest faster. Setting a basic option—like Wheat Mochi—inside the glass case and marking it as your Daily Special can significantly speed up completion.
  • If someone asks for a dish you can’t make right now, select “I can’t make that right now.” The customer will be replaced by a new one. The caveat is that you can only use this replacement choice once every 10 minutes.
  • There’s also a daily cap: you can serve up to 100 customers at the Imagination Cafe per day. If you’ve already reached that limit before accepting this quest, you’ll need to wait until the next day.

Once you complete the fifteen orders, return to Usahana and talk to her. Your surprise is the crafting plans for a Mini Chef’s Station, along with one fully completed Mini Chef’s Station you can place and use immediately.

You do not have to build a Mini Chef’s Station to finish “Cafe Rush.” Still, the recipe is provided for anyone who wants to craft it right away. You can create it at any Crafting Table—for example, the one located at the Resort Gate in the Seaside Resort.

Mini Chef’s Station recipe and placement

The Mini Chef’s Station is a smaller version of the regular Chef’s Station, but it’s fully functional. You can place it in Visitor Cabins or Rainbow Tower Apartments, and it lets you cook items such as Mochi, Dango, Boba Tea, and more.

Like other mini furniture, the station can be customized using My Sweet Piano’s Customizer inside My Melody’s shop, Small Gift Big Smile. You can adjust its color and appearance using materials including Dye Pouches, Sticks, Woodblocks, Thread, and Fabric, along with additional components.

  • City Coin x 100 — City Coins are earned by serving customers at the Imagination Cafe. Higher cafe levels grant more Coins per order.
  • Ingot x 10 — Each Ingot is crafted using 3 Iron Ore. Iron Ore can be found around Gemstone Mountain and Mount Hothead. Ingot rewards can also come from playing the Crane Craze or Gem Match mini-games.
  • Spark x 5 — Each Spark is crafted using 3 Light Stone, plus Kuromi’s return gift.
