Hello Kitty Island Adventure Adds City Town: New Region, Locations, and Maps
Hello Kitty Island Adventure is expanding again with City Town, the first new region outside Friendship Island to arrive on Imagination Island. The update is already included with Apple Arcade, while other platforms received it as paid downloadable content on April 16, 2026.
City Town Checklists
City Town is a fresh slice of the Hello Kitty Island Adventure map, and it brings a mix of exploration, quests, and new places to build up. The content is available on Apple Arcade as a free update, and it launched on other platforms as paid DLC on April 16, 2026.

How To Access The City Town DLC
If you’re playing the Apple Arcade edition of Hello Kitty Island Adventure, the City Town content is included automatically. On other platforms—like Nintendo Switch or Steam—you’ll need to buy the City Town DLC separately.
You can purchase the DLC through Steam, the Nintendo Store, or the PlayStation Store for $24.99. After installing it, you’ll unlock the City Town storyline by completing the quest titled “Ship Shape.”
To begin “Ship Shape,” you’ll need to complete these prerequisites:
- Finish the quest “Deep Diving” to unlock the Snorkel
- Finish the quest “Keep it Reel” to unlock Fishing
- Finish the quest “A Zipline Adventure”
- Raise the Friendship Levels of Badtzu-Maru, Cinnamoroll, Chococat, Keroppi, and Kuromi to 7
After completing the steps above, a boat will appear at the Island Resort docks. You can then talk to Badtz-Maru to start the “Ship Shape” quest. Completing “Ship Shape” along with its follow-up mission “Into the Fog” grants full access to City Town.
Discover and Build a Colorful Metropolis
Once “Ship Shape” and “Into the Fog” are done, you’ll be able to travel to City Town. From there, the update opens up a bright urban area where you can climb tall buildings, explore the Sewers underground, and more.
As you explore and grow City Town, you’ll complete quests that encourage your Friendship Island companions to open their own stores and venues in the new district. At the moment, these locations are available to build, expand, and explore:
- Imagination Cafe: Cook and serve sweets and meals such as Ramen and Onigiri with Usahana!
- Piano Plush Pals: Craft adorable plush companions with My Sweet Piano!
- Pekkle’s Music Shop: Purchase Music Discs with Pekkle!
- Keroppi’s Orchard: Grow fruit you can use at the Imagination Cafe with Keroppi!
- Theater: Investigate a mystery and host a talent show with Hangyodon!
- Tourist Shop: Buy souvenirs imagined by Hangyodon!
- Kuromi’s Boutique: Create your own custom Avatar Palettes with Kuromi!
- Tuxedosam’s Fashion Emporium: New City Town-inspired fashion items debut through Tuxedosam!
- Badtz-Maru’s Arcade: Play three new mini-games and earn plenty of prizes!
- Sashimi Spire: Meet Kirimi-chan and upgrade the Sashimi Spire to unlock Imaginary Fish and Seafood across City Town!
Follow Your Dreams – Literally – In A Fun New Story
Work through City Town quests to uncover Figments and Dream Fragments by helping your friends pursue their goals. As the story continues, you’ll also learn what lies beyond the fog at the edge of City Town.
Befriend A Rainbow of Characters
City Town is home to Usahana, a colorful rabbit who’s looking to make friends. By giving her Gifts, you can raise Usahana’s Friendship Level and unlock rewards like clothing, furniture, and quests that expand the Imagination Cafe menu.
Usahana also has five friends who can visit her in City Town: Buppi, Nyako, Panya, Sora, and Wanwa. Keep an eye out for Orange Sherbet Crates scattered around City Town to unlock rooms in the Rainbow Tower, where these visitors can stay.
New Puzzles, Challenges, Critters, and More!
Underneath City Town is the Sewers, a large underground area packed with Puzzle Rooms for you to solve. Collect City Keys, complete the rooms, and earn plenty of City Town-themed furniture and clothing rewards.
Outside the underground, you can climb up to rooftops, hunt through hidden alleyways, and check every corner of the city. You’ll find Challenge Courses, Photo Ops you can share with friends, and Fast Travel Mailboxes tucked away in spots that demand some tricky climbing and gliding to reach.
Like every new region in Hello Kitty Island Adventure, City Town also adds new Materials, Critters, and Fish to catch and discover. While exploring, you can find fresh ingredients for the Imagination Cafe, including Seaweed, Orchard Fruits, and Rainbow Beams, then donate your Critters to the City Critter Park to help grow the collection. There’s also a new flower called Sunburst that you can plant and grow.
