Halo Studios CEO Faces Fresh Abuse Claims, Report Says Allegations Confirmed

Over the weekend, new allegations surfaced about Pierre Hintze, the head of Halo Studios. A report circulating online claims that multiple employees described Hintze as verbally abusive and argued that his leadership is “destroying the Halo franchise.”

Follow-Up Claims From Another Coverage

Jez Corden from Windows Central later weighed in, saying he can corroborate parts of what was presented in the video. In his own reporting, Corden states he has heard that Hintze is a “controversial” figure inside the studio and that his conduct prompted complaints to Human Resources.

What Corden Says Employees Reported

Corden says he spoke with several former and current staff members to piece together what they believe about Hintze and how his presence affects day-to-day work. He reports that employees feel “antagonised and undermined” when they have to collaborate with him.

  • Corden writes that he saw references to emails sent to Microsoft HR alleging “bullying” by Pierre Hintze, alongside criticism of how he treats staff.
  • He adds that Hintze appears capable of creating friction not only within his team, but also with Xbox more broadly, and that he is “generally controversial” inside the company.
  • Corden also notes that at least one source described Hintze more positively, claiming he has a “complete lack” of people skills and that this was not intended as malice.
  • Even so, the reporting suggests multiple workers who received his comments dispute the idea that the behavior wasn’t harmful.

Microsoft Silence and Calls for Change

Microsoft has not issued a response to the allegations. With two separate sources now backing claims that Hintze was reported to HR, the coverage also suggests Microsoft did not take steps that upheld or resolved the complaints.

In the wake of the new reporting, some players and observers are calling for Xbox leadership to remove Hintze and replace him with someone else. The argument isn’t only about the accusations themselves, but also about what they describe as the current, troubled state of the Halo series during his time in charge.

Hintze joined the company when it was still 343 Industries in 2018, before later becoming the head of Halo Studios in 2022. During that period, the ongoing development of Halo Infinite has been described in the reporting as disastrous.
