Game of Thrones: Dragonfire Launches House of the Dragon Season 3 Event

Game of Thrones: Dragonfire has officially stepped into House of the Dragon Season 3 territory with its first big in-game event. The crossover brings limited-time story missions and exclusive rewards for players who keep up with the show by watching each new episode every week.

Announced on April 7 and released a month later on iOS and Android, Game of Thrones: Dragonfire is a free-to-play mobile strategy game built around the world of House of the Dragon and its ongoing Targaryen Civil War storyline. You play as a new Valyrian descendant tasked with raising a fleet of dragons—then using them to seize control of Westeros. Your campaign can be fought in support of Rhaenyra Targaryen or Aegon and the Greens. Because it’s a direct tie-in, players could already claim famous dragons such as Caraxes and Syrax, but this event is set to add even older creatures to the skies.

House of the Dragon Season 3, Episode 1 also signals that the prequel is digging back into a corner of George R. R. Martin’s lore that Game of Thrones left largely untouched.

Game of Thrones: Dragonfire Begins Major House of the Dragon Season 3 Event

HBO and Warner Bros. Games have revealed an ongoing event for Game of Thrones: Dragonfire that lets players earn rewards tied to House of the Dragon Season 3. Every week, you’ll get access to exclusive missions that line up with the newest episode of the series.

For week one, players take part in the Battle of the Gullet and hunt down Triarchy raiders across Westeros. Completing the tasks unlocks new narrative scenes, all connected to the show’s Season 3 premiere.

Week 2 and the reward schedule

Week two is now live, shifting the goal to conquering Westeros in Rhaenyra’s name as you work toward restoring her rule over the Seven Kingdoms. When you finish the weekly objectives, you’ll receive new narrative scenes centered on Daemon Targaryen standing beside Rhaenyra at the Iron Throne.

From now through July 5, you can also unlock the dragons Sheepstealer and Vermax in your in-game Hatchery. Additional content will keep arriving throughout the rest of the season.

If you connect your HBO Max account, you’ll get a special Game of Thrones: Dragonfire reward each week after a new episode drops—provided you watch the episode all the way through. The weekly payouts increase as you complete more episodes, and catching all eight episodes of House of the Dragon Season 3 on a linked HBO Max account is meant to earn a premium bonus.
