At the center of U bram Thonis is a mythic setting where the city of Thonis is battered by unrelenting storms and rising waters—conditions that quickly destroy the waterfront and send ancient temples beneath the waves. The expansion is positioned as a “large” add-on, adding new board content and mechanics that aim to increase the impact of the choices players make during play.
Updated battlefield and new port city for different player counts
The expansion includes a revamped battlefield for games with either 3 or 6 players. It is described as an updated version of the original Kemet: Krew i Piach battlefield meant for 6 players, and it also offers a battle mode tailored for 3 gods—explicitly aimed at supporting intense 3-player sessions.
For 2–6 players, the expansion adds a brand-new map of Thonis, focusing on a trading port layout built around an escalation-based mechanic.
A win condition tied to the Crystal Pyramid
One of the expansion’s signature features is the Crystal Pyramid, an element of the Thonis city board. Each round, another layer is added to the crystal structure, steadily pushing the group toward a dramatic endgame.
Crucially, control of the Crystal Pyramid is presented as the biggest strategic advantage: it allows players to purchase power tiles of any color, regardless of their current position.
New power tiles and refreshed classics
U bram Thonis also introduces two new power tile sets: Heliodor (yellow) and Hematite (gray). Each set contains 16 tiles.
In addition, the expansion revisits the green power tiles from Księga Umarłych, refreshing their effects and giving them entirely new artwork.
