Gabriel Jesus Hails Barcelona Attack After Scoring in Getafe Win
Gabriel Jesus said Barcelona’s attacking quality is making his first months at the club feel like a dream after he scored in Saturday’s 3-0 La Liga win over Getafe.
The Brazilian striker struck Barcelona’s second goal, following Anthony Gordon’s opener, before Jules Kounde completed a comfortable victory. The result preserved Hansi Flick’s side’s perfect domestic record: eight wins from eight and 24 points from 24.

Jesus, 29, said the technical level around him has created regular opportunities for a centre-forward. He described wearing Barcelona colours as a long-held ambition and said his team-mates’ ability to retain possession gives him more chances in the penalty area.
“Being at Barcelona is a dream for me,” Jesus said. “The players here are so good with the ball that it becomes easier for a striker. Chances arrive, and my job is to be ready to finish them.”
Flick has overseen a sharp improvement in Barcelona’s form after a previous campaign marked by inconsistency. Jesus credited the German coach with giving the squad confidence and encouraging players to make a difference in the final third.
He said Barcelona are playing well enough to expect opportunities in every match, but stressed that the side must remain decisive once those openings come. Jesus also sent his best wishes to Raphinha, saying the injured forward is missed by the group and should return as soon as possible.
The former Arsenal forward believes Barcelona’s scoring output can provide the foundation for a successful season. Having played for high-scoring teams before, he said the priority is to maintain that threat and turn it into victories and trophies.
Barcelona’s flawless league start has put them level with the strongest opening sequence in the club’s history. Their next challenge will be to sustain the same clinical level as the season develops and the demands of multiple competitions increase.
