Die Rise Richtofen Easter Egg Walkthrough: Finish High Maintenance Fast

Finishing the “High Maintenance” easter egg for Richtofen in Call of Duty: Black Ops II on Die Rise can feel like a marathon, but the community has broken it down into a cleaner run. Here’s a step-by-step walkthrough for Richtofen’s side easter egg that’s designed to help you complete each task and keep pushing the Victis crew forward in the penultimate map.

Requirements and prep before you start

  • The Die Rise easter egg is built for 4 players, unless you’re playing on PC with the Plutonium setup.
  • If you’re going solo on PC, you can use BO2-Full-Solo-Mods, which is meant to make the symbol-heavy tramplesteam and elevator phases easier to manage by yourself.
  • If you want extra guidance during the run, try playing as Samuel J. Stuhlinger, since you can hear Richtofen’s quotes while you work through the steps.

Richtofen side easter egg: the full sequence

  1. Build the Tramplesteam.
  2. Build the NAV Card Table.
  3. Turn on the Power.
  4. Activate 4 elevator symbols at the same time.
  5. Activate 4 floor symbols in the correct order.
  6. Use a Sniper Rifle on the orbs in the dragon statues’ mouths.
  7. Build and use the Sliquifier on the spawn lion statues.
  8. Place 4 Tramplesteams on 4 lion symbols on the floor.
  9. Get 15 kills with the now-placed Tramplesteams.
  10. Find 8 Mahjong Tiles and translate their symbols into a sequence.
  11. Use Galvaknuckles to punch the pylon in the correct sequence.

Steps 1–5: setup, power, and symbol activation

Step #1: Build the Tramplesteam

The Tramplesteam is required for a later stage of the easter egg, but you can collect all of its components right from the lobby area. The best time to craft it is early, using the crafting station near the bottom of the escalator outside spawn.

Here are the locations for all four parts:

Chicken Wire

  • To the left of the left statue in the lobby.
  • By the left wall, after opening the first door.

Motor

  • On the reception desk in the lobby.
  • To the right of the elevator in the hallway past the first door.

Bellows

  • In the middle of the left staircase in the lobby.
  • Under the painting, past the door between the statues.

Flag

  • On a chair beside the Olympia Wall-Buy in the lobby.
  • On the railing before the escalator in the next room.

Step #2: Turn on the Power

Next, you need to turn on the power. The switch sits in a large interior room that contains sewing machines, inside the building with the dragon statues.

Head downstairs and follow the power-switch icon on the wall to locate the area. Once activated, the elevators will power on, which you’ll use in a later symbol step.

Step #3: Build the NAV Card Table

The NAV Card Table is made from four components. You’ll craft it on the rooftop where the dragon statue stands, just beneath the large pylon.

All NAV Card Table parts are on that rooftop, and you can find them here:

115 Meteorite

  • In a trash pile in front of a window.

Wooden Table

  • Behind the NAV Card Table, underneath the giant dragon statue and pylon.

Radio

  • In front of the destroyed water tower.

Power Box

  • In “dead man’s corner,” to the right of the zombie barrier.

Step #4: Stand on the Elevator Symbols

With the power on, there will be four different symbols sitting above four elevators. Each player must stand on one symbol at the same time, unless you’re using the solo mod—in that case, you only need to stand on a single symbol.

Symbol locations:

  • Left elevator in the corner of the dragon rooftop, near the Bowie Knife buy location.
  • Elevator below the destroyed water tower inside the dragon rooftop building.
  • Elevator next to the M14 Wall-Buy in the lobby.
  • Elevator downstairs in the lobby by the makeup poster.

Step #5: Stand on the Floor Symbols in the Correct Order

After all players stand on the elevator symbols, they’ll start glowing. Then you’ll need to hit four floor symbols in the correct sequence.

This part is trial-and-error. You must step on each floor symbol to see which one lights up. The first glowing floor symbol is the first entry in your sequence.

  • At the elevator shaft outside the lobby.
  • In the center of the cafeteria.
  • On the roof outside the showers.
  • On the edge by the rooftop drop with the pylon.

Once you locate the first glowing one, remember its position. Then test the other floor symbols to find your second glow, and continue until all four glowing symbols are identified in order.

Steps 6–9: dragon orbs, Sliquifier, and Tramplesteam kills

Step #6: Use a Sniper to shoot orbs from the dragon’s mouths

Grab a sniper rifle either from the SVU-AS Wall-Buy at the department store or from the Mystery Box. You then need to aim through the scope and shoot the orbs inside the teeth of the dragon statues on the rooftop where you built the NAV Card Table.

Step #7: Build the Sliquifier

Now build the Sliquifier, the Die Rise Wonder Weapon used for Richtofen’s easter egg. Craft it at the bottom of the stairs below the power switch. All components are inside the same building.

Mannequin Foot

  • To the left of the TV.

Handbrake

  • On a sewing machine table.
  • Downstairs, on a kitchen tabletop.

Gas Canister

  • In front of the Power Switch.
  • Inside a cage by the Sliquifier workbench.

Wires and Discs

  • Opposite the Sliquifier workbench on a barrel.
  • In the shower room, by the sink and boiler.

Step #8: Use the Sliquifier on the lobby statues

Back in the lobby (where you spawn), you’ll find two statues on either side of the door. Use the Sliquifier to fire 20 shots into each statue—that’s 40 total.

When you complete the step, each statue will produce an orb that begins spinning, confirming the action is done.

Step #9: Place Tramplesteams on the four zombie floor symbols

Each player should take a Tramplesteam. There are four floor symbols featuring zombies. Place the Tramplesteam on the symbol that faces the pylon.

This is relatively straightforward because the Tramplesteam won’t bounce back to indicate incorrect placement.

  • By the lobby balcony in front of the elevator shaft.
  • On the roof balcony close to the pylon.
  • On the roof, to the left of the stairs that lead inside.
  • On the roof, to the right of the stairs that lead inside.

Once all Tramplesteams are placed, let the Tramplesteams rack up 15 kills toward the pylon. You’ll know it worked properly when the pylon turns blue.

For solo players using the mod, you only need one Tramplesteam.

Step 10: Mahjong tiles, Galvaknuckles, and activating the pylon

Step #10: Find the Mahjong Tiles and activate the pylon

At this point, there will be eight Mahjong Tiles scattered around the map, with 11 possible spawn locations. Track down your tiles and record both the symbol and the color.

Tile spawn locations:

  • Tile Spawn #1: On the railing of the pylon.
  • Tile Spawn #2: On the reception desk in the spawn lobby.
  • Tile Spawn #3: On the lower-left side of the escalator in the lobby.
  • Tile Spawn #4: On the destroyed stairs past the lobby hallway.
  • Tile Spawn #5: On a plastic chair in dead man’s corner on the dragon roof.
  • Tile Spawn #6: On a kitchen counter on the top floor of the dragon building.
  • Tile Spawn #7: On a table in the back-right area of the power room.
  • Tile Spawn #8: On a shelf on the bottom floor of the power room building.
  • Tile Spawn #9: On a couch cushion in the upside-down building hallways.
  • Tile Spawn #10: On a ledge in the elevator shaft leading to the Buddha Room.
  • Tile Spawn #11: On the top floor of the Buddha Room in the right corner.

Four of the Mahjong Tiles show a direction (North, East, South, West), while the other four show a number (1, 2, 3, 4). Your objective is to pair direction and number by matching their color.

Example: if North and 3 are both Green, then the third spot in your sequence is North, because they share the same color.

After you’ve collected all tiles and figured out which directions and order they represent, grab Galvaknuckles below the elevator shaft leading toward the Buddha Room. Then go to the rooftop pylon and melee each corner of the pylon in the exact order dictated by your Mahjong tile sequence.

If you execute it correctly, the pylon will glow blue, and the Die Rise icon on the lobby map will also turn blue.
