Crimson Desert Abyss Islands: Every Treasure Chest Location Guide

Crimson Desert’s Abyss Islands are packed with off-path loot, and one of the easiest ways to make your runs more rewarding is to hunt down every Treasure Chest you can find. This checklist-style guide walks you through each Abyss Island chest location and what’s inside, so you can plan routes around the Skybridges and hidden alcoves instead of stumbling into them by chance.

Release / Platform Tracker

This guide segment doesn’t include release dates, platform targets, or edition-specific availability. It’s focused purely on in-game exploration of the Abyss Islands and the Treasure Chest rewards you can obtain while progressing through Crimson Desert’s story and optional Skybridge routes.

All Abyss Island Treasure Chest Locations

To keep your progress organized, use an interactive map (referenced in the guide) to track every chest you uncover across the Abyss Islands. Most of these chests are geared toward Abyss builds, commonly awarding Faded Abyss Artifacts and Abyss Gears.

Ethereal Pathway Treasure Chest

  • Reward: Faded Abyss Artifact, Destruction 1 Abyss Gear

You can locate this chest in the skies above Pywel, on an Abyss Island you can explore during your adventure at any time.

It’s found in the Ethereal Pathway, a large island that becomes available as the second destination you unlock when you first travel to the Abyss in Chapter 1. While the main quest will nudge you to dive back down to the lands below, you can return to this sky area whenever you want.

Once the Skybridge system is unlocked, a chain of floating platforms activates and leads southeast toward the next zone at Root’s End. As you cross the small series of platforms, glance south to spot a bigger stationary floating island. Glide over toward it; to make the jump easier, boost your height by jumping and repeatedly using Force Palm. On that small island, you’ll find the chest.

Sanctorum of Insight Treasure Chest

  • Reward: Faded Abyss Artifact, Haste 1 Abyss Gear

This chest sits on an Abyss Island you reach by climbing the Spire of Stars in Hernand, which leads directly to the Sanctorum of Insight. Even though a story mission will bring you back down quickly, you can revisit the island later to unlock a Skybridge to the next area.

After you activate the first of several Skybridges heading to the following island, you’ll cross a set of small steps that open into a broader platform. In the middle is a lift that slowly lowers. As it drops, look for a golden Treasure Chest sitting in an alcove ahead—though a barrier blocks direct access. Move around to the back side of the alcove, then slip in to grab the loot: a Faded Abyss Artifact and a Haste 1 Abyss Gear.

Vault of Vengeance Treasure Chest

  • Reward: Faded Abyss Artifact, Swift 1 Abyss Gear

You can find this Treasure Chest on an Abyss Island along the same chain that begins after you climb the Spire of Stars in Hernand, eventually leading to the Vault of Vengeance.

After you clear the Vault area, you’ll be able to fly up to the top of the large island. Higher up on the left side of the Skybridge Gate, there’s an area choked with tangled vines. Use your Blinding Flash to burn them away, revealing a second golden Treasure Chest containing a Faded Abyss Artifact and a Swift 1 Abyss Gear.

Altar of Solitude Treasure Chest

  • Reward: Faded Abyss Artifact, Haste 2 Abyss Gear

This chest is on an Abyss Island reached by following the chain that starts with the Spire of Stars in Hernand and continues on to the Altar of Solitude.

When you cross the Skybridge Gate to the connecting platform back among the other islands, search for a platform with a long stairway. Float down to the base and look for an alcove where a Treasure Chest is locked behind several lasers. To get it, place abyss stones on both sides to shut off the two lowest laser beams, then crouch through the gap to collect the Faded Abyss Artifact and the Haste 2 Abyss Gear.

Ice Cradle Treasure Chest

You can find this Treasure Chest on an Abyss Island along the chain that begins after climbing the Spire of Stars in Hernand, which leads to the Ice Cradle.

Keep in mind that once you move forward to activate the next Skybridge, the route changes: platforms rise for a longer path that goes up to the left, then turns right, with a lower set of platforms to the right. If you take the right-hand route, you can spot an alcove beneath the higher platform. At first glance, it looks like a golden Treasure Chest has already been looted—but the real secret is hidden in the cracked ice right beside it. Break the ice with Force Palm to reveal the true chest holding a Faded Abyss Artifact and a Haste 3 Abyss Gear.
