Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Re-synced “Murder and Mayhem” Mission Guide
“Murder and Mayhem” is the thirty-third mission in the main story of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Re-synced, and it’s the second mission in Sequence 10. This walkthrough breaks down the objectives and offers practical ways to handle the mission’s hostile encounters.

Before you start, remember this mission comes right after “Black Bart’s Gambit” in Serranilla, and you’ll be dealing with sea threats as well as an assassination target on Santanillas.
How to Start Murder and Mayhem
Once you’ve finished “Black Bart’s Gambit” in Serranilla, head north to Chinchorro. Look for the coordinate markers 145,179 to begin “Murder and Mayhem.” When you arrive, Roberts and the Princess will be waiting for you.
Kenway’s stealth didn’t go as planned, and you’ll soon need to deal with the Benjamin floating in the water at 236,206.
This area is hostile, so approach carefully. When you get close, try to keep your distance and use Mortars to soften targets before you commit. After that, focus your attacks on the Benjamin. Once it’s handled, the mission will automatically progress—there’s no need to destroy every boat that comes after you.
With the Benjamin sunk, you’ll shift to an island engagement: you’ll need to “entertain Santanillas,” then assassinate Hornigold.
Explore Santanillas
Move south toward the island. You’ll spot a lone guard on the left, plus two more positioned underneath a rock. Take out the single guard first, then handle the pair together.
Keep going south through the rock passage. After that, you’ll reach a Mayan Stelae puzzle area. You can’t complete it during an active mission, so your immediate priority should be eliminating the next two guards farther ahead.
Be ready to remove another guard shortly after. From there, work your way toward the ruins at the top of the cliff in the southwest. That’s where you’ll locate Hornigold, along with a Viewpoint you can synchronize.
Collectible Loot Root
Head east and go underneath the rock. Take out the two guards on the left. Then push toward the beach in the northeast, climb up the pillars, and follow the branches around until you reach the top of the rock.
On the southwest edge, you can find a Data File. On the northwest side, you’ll locate a Treasure Map inside a skeleton.
When you’re ready to leave, exit via the southwest. Jump across the trees and branches, then go south through the ruins and clear the guards there. Look down to spot a chest on the beach—climb down, loot it, then climb back up to continue.
Continue toward the west, climb up, and move along the palm tree. Hide in the bushes and wait until the patrolling guard leaves your line of sight. When the timing is right, take out the two guards ahead.
Remove the guard beyond them—specifically the one closest to the water—then run back to catch the guard who patrols in a loop. After that, go into the building and open the chest inside.
Finally, scale the wall near the Viewpoint and assassinate Hornigold. If he catches you, expect a fight that’s comparable to taking on a Captain.
During the encounter, you may see blue flashes you can parry. Hornigold will also use attacks marked with red flashes that require dodging. Occasionally, he may try to shoot you: you’ll notice him pull out his pistol, and it’ll flash red right before he fires.
Defeating Hornigol rewards you with the Benjamin Sails customization, and the mission ends after that. Afterward, you can jump and synchronize the Viewpoint.
