AC Milan Target 2031 Deal to Secure Christian Pulisic’s Future
AC Milan are preparing a renewed push to extend Christian Pulisic’s contract, with owner Gerry Cardinale keen to secure the United States forward on terms that could run through to 2031.
Pulisic is currently tied to Milan until June 2027, and the agreement includes an option for a further season. The club nevertheless want to settle his future well before that point, both to protect a key attacking player and to reduce the prospect of interest from elsewhere in the market.
The 27-year-old stayed at Milanello during the international window after withdrawing from United States duty. He has been working towards full sharpness after the serious injury he sustained at the World Cup, and his recent league displays have strengthened Milan’s desire to reach an agreement. Pulisic has produced one goal and one assist over his last two Serie A appearances.
Contract talks set for fresh round
Earlier discussions are understood to have paused around a net salary of €5 million per year. Any new negotiation could involve increased demands from Pulisic’s representatives, reflecting his importance to the side and his standing within the club’s wider plans.
Pulisic has significant commercial value for RedBird’s development in North America, but Milan’s case for retaining him is principally sporting. He remains a major part of Ruben Amorim’s attacking group and, if his form continues, one of the players expected to lead the line during the decisive months of the campaign.
The forward will return to a demanding sequence of domestic and European matches once the break is over. His ability to continue producing in the final third will be important as Amorim’s team seek to stay among the leading sides in Serie A.
Milan also target Pavlovic and Rabiot deals
Pulisic is not the only senior player Milan want to secure on improved terms. The club are also working on a proposed extension for centre-back Strahinja Pavlovic that would take his contract to 2031.
Pavlovic’s wages could rise to around €3.5 million a season, approximately double his current pay. The Serbian defender is viewed as one of the players Milan want at the centre of their longer-term squad planning.
An upgraded package is also being considered for Adrien Rabiot. Milan intend to adjust the experienced midfielder’s salary to better reflect his market standing and his influence within the side.
By addressing the futures of Pulisic, Pavlovic and Rabiot, Milan are aiming to keep an established core together rather than face uncertainty over key members of the squad. For Pulisic, however, the timing and final shape of any 2031 agreement will remain closely linked to what he delivers when the Serie A and European schedule resumes.
