Ubisoft Revives Rayman Legends Retold With New Macarena Musical Stage
Ubisoft is bringing back one of its most upbeat rhythm-and-platforming mascots with a new promotional push for Rayman Legends Retold, ahead of its release across multiple modern systems. The campaign ramp-up follows gamescom 2026, where the publisher highlighted fresh footage centered on a brand-new musical stage designed around the Macarena—and the trailer also showcases localized variations of the song, including a playful Italy-themed twist that changes the lyric focus as Rayman crosses into that region.
A new musical stage puts the spotlight back on the remake
Musical levels were a defining part of Rayman Legends when it first arrived in 2012, and Ubisoft is clearly banking on that legacy for the remake’s marketing. The new trailer spotlights a “all-new” music level dedicated to the Macarena, emphasizing both how the track has been composed for gameplay and how it’s staged, with the trailer explicitly pointing to different regional takes on the classic number.
Beyond the new stage, Ubisoft’s remake plans also extend to what players will be able to do and how the original game’s structure has been rebuilt. Rayman Legends Retold is described as a reinvention of the base game built on a new engine, with additional 3D sections and a large set of previously unseen elements.
Ubisoft is also bundling more than just the main remake. The release package includes Rayman Origins : Enhanced Edition, positioned as more than a straightforward port, with its own added content alongside improvements for that title.
Rayman Legends Retold is scheduled for release on October 1, with support for playing solo or in up to four-player co-op. The game is coming to PC, PS5, Xbox Series, and Switch 2.
