Aniimo Announced at Summer Game Fest 2025: Release Date, Crossplay & Beta
During Summer Game Fest 2025, Kingsglory unveiled Aniimo, a new open-world action RPG built around collecting and bonding with “Aniimo” creatures—cute companions that sound designed to scratch the same itch as Pokémon-style capture and the creature-combat craze popularized by other recent hits. The game is slated for release on September 16, 2026, with crossplay and cross-save planned across PC, Xbox Series X|S, and mobile.
What is Aniimo, and what can you do in its world?
Aniimo is an upcoming action RPG set in an open world called Idyll. Players capture and raise the titular magical Aniimo, each described as having its own personality, abilities, and progression paths. The structure is explicitly positioned in the same lane as monster-collecting games—combining creature growth with exploration and combat.
Beyond collecting and development systems, the game features real-time combat, puzzle elements, and exploration. Later on, it plans both PvE and PvP features. A key mechanic is “connection” with your Aniimo: by bonding with them, players can gain new abilities and even shift their perspective.

Languages and audio (what players may get at launch)
Language support varies by platform, and the game’s final lineup at launch is still uncertain. Steam lists playable languages as English, Japanese, Chinese (simplified and traditional), and Korean. Voice acting is listed in English and Chinese (simplified).
The official website shows the same set of languages. However, the Microsoft Store indicates additional UI and subtitle options, including German, Spanish (Mexico), French, Portuguese, and Russian. It remains unclear which of these will be confirmed for release.
Betas and how the testing timeline has gone so far
No beta is currently scheduled, and there’s no expectation of a fourth one before release. The most recent testing phase is the third beta, which started June 9, 2026.
The testing history so far:
- July 4, 2025 – July 10, 2025: first closed beta
- January 23, 2026: second closed beta
- June 9, 2026 onward: third closed beta
All content from prior betas is planned to be playable again in the third.
Co-op support, crossplay, and cross-save
Aniimo is expected to support co-op with up to four other players. Crossplay is planned across platforms, and cross-save is also confirmed, meaning players should be able to continue with the same save data across mobile, PC, and Xbox without losing progress.
