How to Unlock Buppi and Move Him Into City Town in Hello Kitty Island Adventure
Buppi is a shy, clumsy pig who’s friends with Usahana in Hello Kitty Island Adventure. He’s one of the visitors tied specifically to the City Town area, and you won’t be able to meet him until you unlock City Town. Once you get access, this guide walks you through the steps to bring Buppi into City Town—and also what you need to do to get him to settle there permanently.
Release & Availability: How and when you can meet Buppi
Buppi can visit City Town only after you’ve unlocked the area and met Usahana during the quest titled “Into the Fog.” From there, he becomes a monthly visitor, returning to City Town every 5 weeks until you ultimately invite him to become a permanent resident.
| Requirement | What you need |
|---|---|
| Access to City Town | Unlock City Town, then meet Usahana in “Into the Fog.” |
| Visitor schedule | Visits as a monthly visitor, returning every 5 weeks until he moves in permanently |
Buppi Visitor Requirements
After you unlock City Town and complete the Usahana meeting step in “Into the Fog,” Buppi can come to visit. During his stay, he will live in an apartment in City Town’s Rainbow Tower. Importantly, Rainbow Tower apartments are unlocked using Orange Sherbet Crates—not Strawberry Crates.
To qualify for Buppi’s apartment arrangement, your City Town setup needs to meet these conditions:
- Must be in City Town so it’s close to Usahana
- Must include one Triple Frosty Dango
- Must include one Vanilla Shake
- Must include six pieces of Coastal furniture (any type)
Use the Visitor Menu to confirm you’re ready: when your apartment matches everything Buppi needs, it will display a green checkmark. Once you get the checkmark, Buppi’s visit can proceed.
Gifts
Buppi responds well to gifts, specifically items related to Mochi. He will like any items in Hello Kitty Island Adventure that carry the Mochi tag.
Keep in mind that Mochi items can only be prepared at the Chef’s Station. That Chef’s Station becomes available after you complete Usahana’s Friendship Quest, “A Whole New Menu.”
Buppi’s Visitor and Daily Quests
Like other visitors in the game, Buppi has a set of tasks you must finish before he can become a permanent resident. He includes five Daily Quests that you’ll need to complete.
After Buppi moves in, you’ll also be able to unlock and complete the quest “Bright Lights,” which adds neon signs to City Town.
