Ghost of Yōtei Adds New Narrative DLC and Roguelite Survival Mode in October
Ghost of Yōtei is getting its first birthday present a little later than you’d expect: a brand-new narrative expansion and a fresh roguelite survival mode are headed to PS5, expanding the game’s world beyond its initial story. Sucker Punch says the additions will follow Atsu as she revisits a pivotal chapter from her past—plus it will fold in extra content for players who already own the game.
Quick facts
- Platform: PS5
- New narrative expansion: Ghost of Yōtei: Echoes of Sekigahara
- New roguelite solo mode: Ghost of Yōtei: Most Wanted
- Release timing: Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition launches October 1, 2026
- Pricing: €80 for the Complete Edition; €15 for owners to get both Echoes of Sekigahara and Most Wanted
Built as a continuation of the game’s approach to storytelling, Echoes of Sekigahara sends players back to an earlier period in Atsu’s life—before the hunt tied to the Six of Yōtei. Sucker Punch frames the expansion as a mix of present-day action and war-era flashbacks, emphasizing how Atsu is shaped by the conflict tearing through Japan.
The key historical backdrop is the Battle of Sekigahara in October 1600, a turning point that helped end the Sengoku period and usher in the Edo era. The expansion alternates between the time Atsu is living through her hunt and sequences set during that battle, positioning the events as a major step in her life before she returns home for her revenge quest.
What the expansion adds
The official description also promises a through-line of new faces and locations connected to Atsu’s past. In the present, players will explore a previously unseen valley that was once home to “the Serpent” and his circle of loyal partisans, the Vipers.
In the flashback chapters, Atsu will take part in the Battle of Sekigahara itself. Sucker Punch says the expansion will introduce new enemies, along with new heavy weapons, additional armor sets, and fresh dyes.
Beyond the new expansion, the update strategy is also tied to the game’s existing multiplayer offering. Players will still have access to the previously released Ghost of Yotei Legends, and Most Wanted arrives as a separate single-player mode built around a roguelike structure.
Most Wanted: solo roguelite survival
Ghost of Yōtei: Most Wanted is described as a survival mode where you chain contracts to defeat enemies, earn advantages, and unlock additional characters to play as. Sucker Punch has already named two of the additions: Oyuki, an expert of the kusarigama, and Nagato, a specialist in the lance.
Details on how the survival loops work will be shared later, but the core promise is consistent: each run is built around progressing through contracts, strengthening your options via advantages, and expanding your roster as you go.
For anyone joining late, everything is bundled together in the Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition. It includes the expansion and Most Wanted, and it lands on October 1, 2026 for PS5 in both boxed form and digital download, priced at €80.
Existing owners don’t have to wait for the full bundle. They’ll be able to purchase Echoes of Sekigahara and Most Wanted together for €15.
Complete Edition extras
Complete Edition owners will also get additional content beyond the two headline modes. Sucker Punch says the package includes new pieces for the Watanabe mode that become available throughout the game when the mode is active, plus new Photo mode stamps.
On top of that, the edition adds more cosmetics for New Game+, and new trophies tied specifically to Echoes of Sekigahara and Most Wanted.
