Autostadt Wolfsburg Opens House of Gaming for Digital Culture and Mobility

Wolfsburg’s Autostadt, directly next to the Volkswagen plant, has added a new attraction aimed squarely at fans of games and tech: the “House of Gaming.” The venue repurposes the former Lamborghini-branded pavilion and positions it as a crossover space for “Gaming, digital culture and mobility,” with operators describing it as a “next level” gaming experience.

In practice, the building offers free access to a curated set of titles and platforms. Visitors can play on Nintendo and PlayStation consoles as well as gaming PCs, with games including Super Mario Kart, Overcooked! 2, Trackmania, and Rocket League available at no extra cost.

Not everything in the house is included with admission, though. Premium offerings include VR treadmills—described as a virtual-reality simulator—alongside racing simulators priced at 15 euros per session. There are also arcade machines for retro play, including classic Pac-Man, which fall under the paid experiences.

Autostadt CEO Edith Gerhardt framed the opening as more than just a gaming corner, saying the House of Gaming creates a new push for digital experiences and technical fascination, with a space meant to bring people together and encourage discovery while making enthusiasm for innovation feel current.

Access to the House of Gaming is generally included in Autostadt ticket pricing. Tickets cost 21 euros, with a reduced rate of 17 euros and discounted pricing for children and students at 11 euros. Outside normal operating hours, the area can also be booked for events.
