Moonlight Peaks: Repair Mom’s Broken Wand and Start Casting Magic

Starting your journey in the town of Moonlight Peaks, you’ll quickly learn that progress here isn’t just about farming—it’s about learning to bend magic to your workflow. Early on, you come across Mom’s old wand in Moonlight Peaks, but it’s broken in two, meaning you can’t cast spells as-is. The good news is that you can repair the wand and begin learning magic spells in Moonlight Peaks, and this guide breaks down the full process step by step.

There’s also a practical reason to pursue magic beyond curiosity: using spells can make your farm more efficient, and those spells can be upgraded through better wands and spell progression. Below, you’ll find what you need to do to get there.

How to Fix the Wand & Unlock Magic in Moonlight Peaks

  • You can fix the wand and unlock magic through a quest that begins with a letter from Luna about barns in Spring Year 1, and the steps are outlined below.

In Spring Year 1, you receive a letter from Luna after she teaches you about barns. Luna runs her farm on the North side of Moonlight Peaks. In the letter, she invites you to stop by, teasing that she has something exciting and brand new to show you. She explains that she has found a new magical plant and wants to teach you how to water it using a spell.

When you’re ready to pull out your wand, you discover the problem immediately: it’s badly broken. Luna worries that trying to use it could lead to someone getting hurt, so she recommends that you visit Sabrina at the Webb of Wonders store in the Southeast corner of the shop area in Moonlight Peaks to see if it can be repaired.

That’s where Noel is waiting. He decides this is his opportunity to prove himself following a mishap involving the coven. So, in his own way of “helping,” Noel tapes your wand together and declares it fixed. Take it back to Luna, and she—despite her reluctance—agrees to test it.

This is the moment you learn your first spell: Aquaflux I. Its purpose is to water your magic crops. Before you’re allowed to leave, you test the spell on Luna’s plants. Luna then asks you to return the next day and water them again with the spell.

Important timing note: the spell won’t water your crops until the quest is completed. If you attempt it earlier than instructed, it won’t progress anything and will instead waste your Mana.

After you water them a second time, you must wait one more day to see the results. On the third day, when you visit Luna’s farm, you’ll find the crops glowing and shaped like moons. Noel suggests the name Moonfruit, and the name sticks. These become the first of many magic crops you’ll be able to grow.

To thank you for your help and to show that she believes in you, Luna hands over 10 seeds for Moonfruit, free of charge. Additional magic seeds are also available at her stand, located south of the farm.

How to Get More Mana and Spells in Moonlight Peaks

There are a few ways to restore and expand your magic, but the most reliable approach is to progress through the main storyline in Moonlight Peaks. Still, there are additional options you can use along the way, detailed below.

Sleep

Every night, when your character goes to sleep, you’ll wake up with one Mana if you didn’t already have any. Mana won’t replenish beyond one point through sleeping alone, but it’s enough to help you keep watering your magic crops.

Eat

Some foods you can craft will restore a portion of your Mana as well. If you buy recipe books from Coffee & Coffins, you’ll unlock more recipes you can make.

Help Sabrina — The Quest for Mana

After you regain your wand, Sabrina sends you a letter. She says she has something “game-changing” to show you at the Webb of Wonders. When you arrive, you see Sabrina and Noel talking while she prepares to test something inside her room. She explains that she believes she can use it to make Moonfruit more useful for Vampires. Unfortunately, her first test doesn’t work.

Sabrina turns to Noel and asks him to fetch items to help fine-tune the device, but he runs off. At that point, you step in and offer to help Sabrina instead. She requests 3 Copper Bars and 3 Iron Bars.

You can produce these materials by mining ore in the Cave of Echoes located in the southern part of the map. For small iron deposits, you’ll need a Copper Pickaxe to mine them efficiently, so make sure you upgrade your tools before going after the resources.

Once you deliver the bars, Sabrina needs the day to make the adjustments. You’ll have to return the next day. When you do, all the witches gather to watch Sabrina’s Mana Extractor in action—and this time, it works. After the crowd leaves, Sabrina provides you a blueprint for building your own Mana Extractor and adds that you’ll also need 10 Rose Quartz.

Rose Quartz can only be obtained in the Crystal Cave around the West side of Fiona’s house. Sabrina then suggests that once your extractor is crafted, you should let Fiona know and see whether it’s enough for entry into the coven.

To mine the Rose Quartz, you’ll need an Iron Pickaxe.

Mana Extractor Recipe

To create the Mana Extractor, you’ll need to gather the following components from your crafting stations. Items come from both the Refiner and the Furnace.

From your Refiner:

  • x5 Refined Stone
  • x5 Planks

From your Furnace:

  • x5 Copper Bar
  • x5 Glass

To make glass, you’ll need 2 Quartz Dust and 1 Charcoal for each glass item.

How To Get Quartz Dust

Now that you’ve secured the Rose Quartz, you need to transform it into Quartz Dust. That requires building the Enchanted Mortar for which Luna provides a blueprint. The Enchanted Mortar requires:

  • x5 Iron Bars
  • x10 Refined Stone

After you have the Enchanted Mortar, you can grind the Rose Quartz inside it to produce Quartz Dust.

How to Use the Mana Extractor in Moonlight Peaks

Once you own the Mana Extractor, it becomes your tool for pulling Mana Essence directly out of your magical crops. To use it, approach the extractor and interact with it. You’ll see a list of plants you can extract Mana from, and you can pick which one you want to use.

When the extraction progress reaches 100%, you’ll receive one Mana Essence Bottle. These bottles can then be used in recipes to enhance or boost effects.

Cooking With Mana

After you unlock Mana extraction, you can purchase the Mana Cookbook from Coffee & Coffins, which is also Mina’s shop, for 2,500 coins. The cookbook provides 10 recipes that you can craft to replenish your Mana.
