Moonlight Peaks Crystal Cave Guide: Entry and Rose Quartz for Mana Extractor
The Crystal Cave is a location in Moonlight Peaks, sitting just to the west of Fiona’s House in Moonlit Pines. It’s part of the Building a Mana Extractor quest, which revolves around collecting Rose Quartz. To enter the cave in Moonlight Peaks, you’ll need a Copper Pickaxe, and once inside you must upgrade to an Iron Pickaxe before you can mine the Rose Quartz nodes required for the quest.
Finding the Crystal Cave in Moonlight Peaks
You can locate the Crystal Cave in Moonlit Pines, in the region directly north of your farm. The entrance is just west of Fiona’s House. If you want one route to follow, here’s a straightforward path:
- Begin from your farm.
- Head north into Moonlit Pines using the path in the northeast corner.
- At the fork, keep to the left and continue north.
- As you near a wooden staircase, look to the right to find the cave entrance.
What you need before you can mine Rose Quartz
When you first arrive, the cave entrance is blocked by a rock. You’ll need a Copper Pickaxe to break through. After that, you’ll still need an Iron Pickaxe to destroy the nodes inside that drop the Rose Quartz required for the Building a Mana Extractor quest.

Crystal Cave resources and other activities
Inside the Crystal Cave, you’ll find mineable nodes that yield Rose Quartz and Moon Crystals. Rose Quartz nodes are pink, while Moon Crystal nodes are blue. You can also mine smaller variants of these resources using an Iron Pickaxe. Larger resource nodes may show up as well, but you won’t be able to mine them until you upgrade your pickaxe further.

- Moon Crystal nodes appear as blue deposits.
- Small variants can be mined with an Iron Pickaxe.
- Large resource nodes may spawn, but require a later pickaxe upgrade before they’re mineable.
Other things to do in the cave
Beyond the mining, the Crystal Cave also has Glowglammer mushrooms. You can process those at a Coking Station. There are also some Soul Blobs you can catch using your Net while you’re in the cave. Finally, you can deliver a Vampster to the Cave of Echoes.
