Mass Effect 3 Biotic Amp Interfaces Guide: Pickup, Tech Locations, Completion
If you’re working through Mass Effect 3’s Biotic Amp Interfaces side mission, this walkthrough breaks down where to pick it up, where the required tech is located, how to handle the combat encounters, and what you need to do to finish the quest successfully.
Key takeaways
- The Biotic Amp Interfaces side mission can’t be turned in after “Priority: Tuchanka” starts, so complete it beforehand.
- You can begin the job after completing “Priority: Palaven,” with the mission tied to Petra Nebula’s Vetus area at Grissom Academy.
- The schematics/amp interface tech are obtained during the Grissom Academy sequence, and a missed pickup can be replaced via Spectre Requisitions on the Citadel.
- To finish the quest, you deliver the items at Huerta Memorial Hospital on the Citadel, where an Asari doctor needs the technology.
- Completing the mission grants 30 XP, +5 reputation, 1,000 credits, and a War Asset bonus of +8 TMS to the Citadel Defense Force.
Important warning before you start
This side mission is time-sensitive: you won’t be able to complete it once “Priority: Tuchanka” has been reached. Plan to hand it in before moving that far in the main story.
If you’re looking for something specific, the guide highlights sections covering mission stats, where to find the amp interfaces, and how to deliver them.

Mission rewards
- Mission experience: 30 XP
- Reputation: +5
- Mission credits: 1,000 credits
- War asset: +8 TMS to Citadel Defense Force
Find the Amp Interfaces
- Prerequisite: Complete “Priority: Palaven”
- Where to go: Petra Nebula – Vetus – Grissom Academy
The earliest opportunity to start this side quest is right in the middle of another mission. Near the end of “Grissom Academy: Emergency Evacuation,” you’ll come across it while still progressing through that area.
To unlock the side mission in the first place, you’ll need to finish “Priority: Palaven,” then deal with EDI is Offline, and finally speak with Specialist Traynor.
Once you reach the Atrium and push through the combat, you’ll find Octavia, a young woman, inside a tech shield bubble. Resolve the situation, then keep moving forward using the door on the right.
The next space is set up like a T-shaped junction. There’s a doorway straight ahead, and on the right side of that area you’ll find a terminal labeled “Biotic Amp Schematics.” As Shepard points out, the recovered data isn’t as strong as what the Alliance is using—still, it’s enough for the mission’s needs.
If you didn’t manage to grab the “Biotic Amp Schematics” during “Grissom Academy: Emergency Evacuation,” you can backtrack to Spectre Requisitions on the Citadel. There, you can purchase “Biotic Amp Interface Tech” for 1,000 credits, which also satisfies the requirement for this quest.
Deliver the Amp Interfaces
- Delivery location: Serpent Nebula – Widow – Citadel – Huerta Memorial Hospital
The person who needs the technology is on the Citadel. Go to Huerta Memorial Hospital, enter through the Security Hallway, and then turn right once you’re past security.
On the other side, you’ll see an Asari doctor standing by a window and on a call. Approach her, listen to what she says during the conversation, and then interact with her to complete the quest.
