Complete Guide to Every Achievement and Trophy in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced

Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced lets you roam the Caribbean aboard the Jackdaw, where every voyage is an opportunity to live out your best (or worst) pirate fantasy. With 49 achievements and 50 trophies waiting to be earned across its large open world, this walkthrough-style guide breaks down exactly how to unlock every one in the game.

Checklists

Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced Platinum

To earn the Platinum trophy in AC Black Flag Resynced, you’ll need to collect every trophy listed below.

Lively Havana

This unlocks automatically when you complete the “Lively Havana” quest.

A Poxy Bird

This unlocks automatically when you complete the “The Treasure Fleet” quest.

Walls That Hold Back The Wind

This unlocks automatically when you complete the “This Old Cove” quest.

In A World Without Gold

This unlocks automatically when you complete the “So Not Go Gently…” quest.

Ever A Splinter

This unlocks automatically after you finish Sequence 12, Memory 5.

Last To Leave

As you sail, burning ships can appear at random on the seas. When you spot one, sail up alongside it and board. Occasionally, those burning vessels include a chair you can interact with—sit in the chair to trigger this unlock.

King of the Castle

Capture every fort in each region of the world map. Red castle symbols indicate their locations. Some of these take real effort, so make sure you’ve upgraded the Jackdaw as much as possible before tackling the tougher forts to the south.

The Memory of My Enemy

Throughout the game, you can find multiple portrait collectibles hidden in various places. Track down every character portrait and display them all in the hideout manor.

Dilettante

The hideout manor includes several spaces for displaying art and gear you’ve collected. Fill every empty display slot by gathering enough of both categories.

Governor

Buy every hideout upgrade available for Great Inagua. There are 14 upgrades total, and they’ll cost a lot of reales.

Zero Waste

Head to the Treasure Dealer merchant at the Great Inagua dock to get his operation running again. He sells map pieces that you can restore for a fee. You can also locate map pieces by hunting—rare animals sometimes swallow them. Return to the Treasure Dealer with the pieces to restore them and earn this trophy.

Grandmaster

There are three tavern games: checkers, nine-men’s morris, and fanorona. If you pay for a tavern at the Great Ingaua hideout, you’ll be able to find all three. Checkers is in the tavern itself, while the other two games sit just east of the general store.

Articles of Agreement

In large cities such as Havana, you may occasionally run into a random event where pirates and authorities clash in the streets. Join the pirates and eliminate targets quickly to minimize casualties.

Among Thieves

Smuggler’s chests are locked containers that require keys. Those keys are carried by pirates, meaning you’ll have to kill them or pickpocket them to obtain access. Several chests are hidden inside caves—one example is the Petite Caverne at (864, 237).

Help a Brother Out

Templar Hunts become available after the “This Old Cove” quest. You can pick from multiple hunts in Havana and other major settlements. Complete any one Templar Hunt to unlock this.

Seven Deadly Seas

First, you’ll need to obtain the Jackdaw’s Diving Bell upgrade so you can reach deep shipwrecks. You can either purchase it for 5,000 reales or earn it through the main story. When you’re searching for wrecks, look for the tops of ships sticking out above the ocean.

Silence, Fool!

Plantations often have alarm bells that guards ring when they notice you. Lure a guard into seeing you on purpose, then assassinate or shoot them while the bell is being rung to unlock this one.

Matador

Wild pigs can be found in Nassau (586, 764), Great Inagua (818, 436), and Cape Bonavista (152, 588). Approach a pig, then dodge its charge three times—especially when its snout flashes red.

Perfect Predator

Great white sharks appear in the Cruz seas (495, 299). Charge your harpoon shot, then release it when the white aim outline lands inside the diamond reticle—at that moment the reticle should turn red. It may take a few attempts, but these sharks are tough, giving you plenty of chances.

Double Tap

Ocelots are located on Abaco Island (585, 811). They move fast, so to earn this trophy you must parry their swipes two times back-to-back.

Owned

On the world map, highlight any location you’ve already visited to display a checklist of what’s available there—collectibles, animals, viewpoints, and more. Complete everything on that list to earn this one. It’s easiest on small islands with short checklists: synchronize the viewpoint, hunt the few animals present, and open every chest you find.

The Hangman

The rope dart is unlocked during the “Sugarcan and its Yields” quest. Find a tree near any enemy while they’re unaware. If you’re positioned directly above them on a branch, a prompt appears that lets you hang them with the rope dart. Repeat this 10 times to unlock the trophy.

Caught ‘Em All

Use a smoke bomb in areas where you expect to be surrounded—such as when boarding a ship or rushing a fort. You can also create trouble inside a restricted zone in a big settlement like Havana or Kingston, then throw down a smoke bomb when enemies begin converging on you.

Gun-kata

First, craft all four pistol holster upgrade items to make the setup easier. Then use your quick shot four times in a row to fire four shots at weaker enemies—such as the ones you tend to face during boarding missions on smaller ships.

Backs To The Wall

The quickest approach is to perform a takedown on an enemy during a boarding attempt on a small ship. Position an enemy crewmember in a corner, then kick them toward the side of the vessel by pressing R2 + Square on PlayStation or RT + X on Xbox. After that, press Triangle / Y to execute a takedown that will likely send them overboard.

Let Me Explain

This challenge works like the previous boarding-focused goals: try it in a crowded place such as a boarded ship or a hostile fort. Parry right before you get struck by a blue attack, then immediately carry out a takedown. While the takedown animation plays, look to the next nearby enemy and finish them right away. Certain swords enable longer takedown chains, which can help you secure this unlock.

Overdesign IV

You can complete this around the same time as “Backs To The Wall.” Board a ship, hit an enemy with a berserk dart (L2 + Left or LT + Left), deploy a smoke bomb (L2 + Down or LT + Down), and then kick the target toward the edge of the deck. When they impact the edge, perform a takedown to send them overboard.

All Hands On Deck

You can recruit four Officers for the Jackdaw: Adéwalé, Lucy Baldwin, Padre, and Deadman. Adéwalé joins automatically as part of the story. Lucy and Padre become available after the “This Old Cove” quest. Open the quest list on the world map to select their Officer missions. Deadman’s quest unlocks much later, after Sequence 11—continue progressing their questlines so they can join you.

Hungover

Go to any tavern on the map and walk up to the bar to buy a bottle for 25 reales. Keep purchasing drinks until you pass out. When you wake up, you’ll be in a haystack.

Collective Madness

The Kenway’s Fleet system unlocks after the “This Old Cove” quest, and it lets you add ships you successfully board to your fleet. To earn this trophy, board a Schooner, Brig, Frigate, and Man o’ War, then add each of them to your fleet.

Strike The Colors

Convoys occasionally appear while you sail. They display their own unique icon, and your crew will call them out. Watch for small groups of ships traveling together, then board the marked vessel—often the largest—to unlock this.

Unsinkable

During stormy weather, rogue waves spawn and stand out because they rise much higher than normal waves. When you spot one, rotate the Jackdaw so it’s parallel to the wave, letting the wave strike you on purpose.

Yo Ho…

You can locate a shanty as soon as you enter Havana for the first time. Check the world map for icons resembling music notes on paper. As you approach, the shanties fly away—chase the paper briefly until you catch it.

Return the Favor

After the “This Old Cove” quest, recruit Padre to gain his dash ram ability for the Jackdaw. Use it to ram an enemy brig directly as they ram into you.

Hunter Hunted

Pick any stretch of sea where your Jackdaw can handle repeated attacks without getting sunk too quickly. Keep attacking and boarding ships until you reach the highest wanted level. Then defeat the ship with red sails that comes for you. For best results, upgrade the Jackdaw as much as possible before attempting this one.

Devil of the Caribbean

There are four legendary ships to take down, and each one is located in a different corner of the world map. You can spot them on the map corners, but make sure the Jackdaw is fully upgraded before starting these fights. You must defeat El Impoluto in Dry Tortuga, HMS Fearless & Royal Sovereign in Eleuthera, HMS Prince in Navassa, and La Dama Negra in Serranilla.

Old Ironsides

After the “This Old Cove” quest, recruit Lucy Baldwin through her Officer questline to gain the perfect brace ability. In naval combat, brace right before you get hit to execute a perfect brace. Do this three times to earn the achievement/trophy.

Not So Little Friend

You can unlock the Double Shot secondary fire early by capturing the Dry Tortuga fort.

Dressing Overall

You can get several vanity items for the Jackdaw for free by capturing forts, though Harbourmasters also sell them. To earn this, swap out your sails, wheel, hull, figurehead, and crew outfits.

Smooth Operator

This is almost unavoidable because a tutorial during the “This Tyro Captain” quest demonstrates how to craft a pistol holster. Open your inventory and select the anvil icon to open the crafting menu.

Business And Pleasure

This should come naturally as you upgrade both the Great Inagua hideout and the Jackdaw, since the improvements stack up quickly.

Ship This

Upgrade the Harbourmaster at the hideout to unlock every tier of Jackdaw improvements, then gather the needed materials and reales to purchase them all.

Glutton for Nourishment

Food items are frequently found around taverns in areas where you might also run into enemies. That means you generally won’t find random food sitting in your hideout—though you can in places like Havana, Nassau, Kingston, and other settlements.

Friend To All

{{trophy-achievement|name=Friend To All|medal=bronze|points=20|description=Interact with all seven friendly animals}

Interact with the seven animals that allow you to hold or pet them.

Blow The Man Down

Shoot the ropes above hanging bodies in Long Bay to drop them.

Davy Jones’ Locker

Dive down to the deepest part of the ocean from the world map.

Cartographer

Capturing forts reveals additional icons in the surrounding area, which helps you locate undiscovered spots. Sail to and visit every named location on the world map.

Edward Catway

Potted plants are often placed on windowsills where the windows are open. You’ll automatically smash these pots when you climb through the windows.

Ed the Diver

Hold Circle/B on controller or Ctrl on keyboard to dive whenever you’re swimming in deep water. Keep exploring underwater until you unlock this achievement/trophy—just don’t forget to surface now and then.
