Tranzit Maxis Easter Egg Guide: Tower of Babble Walkthrough (Step-by-Step)
Trying to finish the Tower of Babble easter egg in Tranzit for Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 Zombies? Here’s a complete, start-to-finish walkthrough for the Maxis side, including where each component goes and how to handle the Avogadro sequence with EMPs and the Turbine.
Tranzit Maxis Side Easter Egg Steps Overview
- Build the Turbine.
- Build the Nav Card Table.
- Turn on the Power.
- Turn off the Power.
- Grab EMP Grenades from the Mystery Box.
- Spawn the Avogadro at the Cornfield Pylon.
- With a Turbine active at the Nav Card Table, EMP the Avogadro.
- Use a Turbine on a lamp post.
Step #1: Build the Turbine
The Turbine is the portable power generator you construct at the Bus Depot. The Turbine is essential for moving the easter egg forward, and all three pieces you need are located within the spawn area of the Bus Depot—so grab them before you continue.
Step #2: Build the Nav Card Table
Before anything else, you’ll need to build the Nav Card Reader. It has four components, and you must carry each one to the large pylon in the cornfield, which sits between Farm and the Power Station on the left.
115 Meteor
- The Meteor is in the Bus Depot. Exit through the main doors, then look into the zombie barrier immediately behind the Mystery Box.
Wooden Table
- First Wooden Table spot: in the tunnel connecting Bus Depot and the Diner, specifically near the zombie barrier on the right side of the walkway that also holds the M16 Wall-Buy.
- Second Wooden Table spot: in the Power Station, on the edge of the metal walkway below Tombstone Soda.
Electrical Box
- First Electrical Box spot: in the Farm, to the left of the fridge where you can store weapons.
- Second Electrical Box spot: near the dumpster in Town, where the Mystery Box appears.
Radio
The first Radio spawn location is on top of a locker in the mechanic’s garage in the Diner area.
The second Radio spawn location is on a table in Nacht der Untoten. You can reach it by heading through the cornfields and staying on the right path after the Farm on your way toward the Power Station.
Step #3: Turn on the Power (Then Turn it Back Off)
Ride the bus to the Power Station. From there, open the door to the outhouse and drop down into the hidden lab. Inside, you’ll find three parts required to assemble the Power Switch. These parts are located in the large white room with the Hand, Switch, and Generator.
Once you activate the power switch and the Avogadro spawns, you must immediately shut the power back off. This timing requirement is specific to the Maxis side of the Tower of Babble quest, so it’s a good idea to get set up with Perks and Pack-a-Punch before you begin.
Step #4: Acquire EMP Grenades
EMP Grenades are a key item for this easter egg. You can only obtain them from the Mystery Box, so build up points and spin until you get them (use the blue light in the sky as your visual cue for where the box is).
Step #5: Spawn the Avogadro at the Cornfield Pylon
Go to the pylon in the Cornfield and be prepared to wait. You need lightning to appear in the skybox surrounding you—meaning it should be all around your position, not just in one direction. This wait can take a few minutes. When lightning is present, kill the final zombie to flip the round, and the Avogadro will spawn in.
Step #6: Place Turbines on Either Side of the Nav Card and EMP the Avogadro
After the Avogadro appears, place a Turbine on the side of the Nav Card Table by the back leg of the pylon. Then throw an EMP Grenade at the Avogadro when he is positioned opposite the Turbines—so the Turbines themselves are not destroyed. If done correctly, the EMP will instantly kill the Avogadro, and he will fly back up into the sky. You’ll know you succeeded because you’ll receive a Maxis quote.
In a solo run, you only need one Turbine. If you’re playing with two or more players, you’ll need two Turbines—one on each side of the Nav Card Table.
Step #7: Place Your Turbines on the Lamp Posts in the Fog
Once you hear the Maxis quote and the Avogadro is defeated, you’ll move to the next phase. Solo players should grab their Turbine and activate it in front of a lamp post on their route. These lamp posts are also used for fast travel with denizens. You can find one outside the Cornfield, and additional options exist at other POIs like Bus Depot, Diner, and Farm.
When the Turbine powers the lamp post, it should begin glowing with an orange orb. That orb sends power toward the pylon. After the pylon is lit with orange energy, the easter egg completes. For confirmation, head back to the lobby and look for an orange highlight around the Tranzit symbol.
In a 4-player lobby, after you defeat the Avogadro, the two players responsible for the Nav Card Table should keep their Turbines active. The other two players then handle the lamp post step with their own Turbines. Solo and 2-player games are more flexible—you can move your Turbine(s) to other lamp posts as needed.
