Experimental Features
Cushion
The Cushion is a placeable item that players can interact with to sit on. It’s available in 16 different colored variants, and each cushion is crafted using three Wool Slabs of the same color.
Placement is limited by a clear set of rules. Cushions can be set down on any flat surface, they always line up horizontally to the world grid, and they sit vertically on top of whatever block is supporting them.
- A cushion can be placed on any flat surface
- Cushions always align horizontally to the grid, but vertically sit on top of the supporting surface
- Cushions cannot move
- Cushions break if the supporting block is removed
- Cushions do not have collision and can overlap with other objects (with the exception of other cushions)
Straw Bed
The Straw Bed is a new bed type designed to let you skip the night without permanently changing where you spawn. It’s a one-time use item: after you sleep in it, the bed is destroyed.
There are also clear dimension restrictions. You can’t use it in the Nether or The End, and if you attempt to sleep on it there, it will be removed after use.
- Straw Bed lets you sleep through the night without setting your spawn point
- It can only be used once and will be destroyed after use
- It cannot be used in the Nether or The End, and will be destroyed if you try to sleep on it there
- Crafting uses 3 Hay Bales and yields 4 Straw Beds
Abandoned Camp
Abandoned Camps are getting broader biome coverage. They now generate in both the Pale Garden and Flower Forest biomes, and Straw Beds can be discovered inside these structures.
Beyond loot changes, the camps themselves were adjusted as well. The update also adds procedural tree placement to Abandoned Camps and corrects incorrect potion names in the loot tables tied to these camps.

- Straw Beds can now be found in Abandoned Camps
- Updated Abandoned Camps to place procedural trees
- Fixed wrong potion names in the loot tables for the Abandoned Camp
Dappled Forest
The Dappled Forest receives environment tuning as well. Biome fog settings were adjusted to align with the look and feel of other forest biomes.
- Changed biome fog settings to match other forest biomes
- Updated Orange, Red & Yellow Poplar Leaves MERS textures
Sounds
Audio updates target Poplar leaf ambience and related foliage. Ambient sounds for Poplar leaf blocks have been updated, and new custom sound events were added for Red Shrubs and Poplar leaf blocks.

Graphical
On the visuals side, Poplar leaves are getting fixes and improvements. Opaque versions were added to the Poplar leaves to address a black background issue, and the Poplar door icon received updated details.
There’s also a texture cleanup for signage: the Poplar sign texture was corrected so it follows the same style as other sign assets.

- Added hinges to Poplar door icon; removed 3 pixels from the top door texture that didn’t match the palette
