The first LEGO Pokémon offering to feature minifigures—specifically Professor Oak and Red—is set to arrive later this year, and leaked imagery has already hinted at what’s coming.

As images of the Iconic Trainer Moments: Poké Ball set spread online, they reveal a detailed LEGO design built from 2,386 bricks. The build is also said to include three minifigures.

Poké Ball build details and included scene

Visually, the set is shaped like a spherical Pokéball whose top section can be opened. Inside is a small diorama capturing the moment you’re ready to start your Pokémon journey.

On the Pokéball lid, Professor Oak is positioned in his lab, presenting a choice of three Pokéballs for your adventure—an iconic setup taken directly from Pokémon Red and Pokémon Blue.

The Pokéball base features two minifigures facing one another: Red on one side and a Picnicker opponent on the other, posed as if they’re about to battle. The display area is framed with leafy scenery, raising the question of whether it’s meant to resemble Viridian Forest.

Also included are miniature models of Pikachu and Eevee, rounding out the interior details for the diorama.

So far, LEGO Pokémon products have mostly leaned on static scale models meant for display, or smaller builds designed to work as toys and supported by Smart Brick technology. This Pokéball set is presented as a step into new territory by bringing minifigures into the mix—something fans have been asking for.

LEGO Pokémon Venusaur, Charizard, and Blastoise note

Even with images floating around, LEGO hasn’t formally confirmed the Venusaur, Charizard, and Blastoise set yet. That means a final, verified price and release date are still not locked in.

Still, leak reports from “reliable” LEGO sources suggest a launch on October 1, with pricing falling somewhere between $260 and $300.

Pokémon is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, but no new entry in the main franchise is planned to land this Christmas. Instead, the long-awaited tenth generation titles, Pokémon Winds and Pokémon Waves, are expected to arrive in 2027 exclusively for Switch 2.

In the meantime, Pokémon Pokopia—described here as a popular life simulation—will keep receiving updates. Pokémon Go, meanwhile, is set to reveal what’s next for the game during a special livestream later this week.
