Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Remastered Guide: Prizes and Plunder Walkthrough
“Prizes and Plunder” is the tenth mission in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Remastered. After you gather your crew in Nassau, Edward Hornigold and Reginald Thatch set their sights on seizing plunder from other vessels to improve your haul. This walkthrough focuses on testing what the Jackdaw can do, then steering you to Salt Key Bank, with practical advice and collectible suggestions along the way.
Prizes and Plunder
Start the quest by heading to the northern part of Nassau. Once you arrive, sit down at the campfire—Hornigold will be there to walk you through how to loot other ships for valuable rewards.
Next, sail around until you find a schooner. These are small ships, but they’re not the tiny cutters. To scout targets, use your spyglass by pressing the R3 / Right Stick / F input. Move the view to spot other vessels and zoom in; from there, you can see what’s aboard. When you identify a ship you want, place a marker so you can track it during the approach.
Your goal is to disable the schooner without sinking it. The crew won’t attack if you get close, so use that to your advantage—sneak up and fire a few cannon shots to bring the ship under control. Once the vessel is weakened, you can continue the assault using the Swivel Gun. Hover over the red indicator markers and press R1 / RB to fire.
After the ship is incapacitated, close the distance and board it. While naval battles in general let you incapacitate and then sink targets, this mission expects you to get aboard. Slow the boat down as much as possible so you can reach the schooner and make the boarding attempt cleanly.
If you want to make the boarding phase easier, you can fire the Swivel Gun manually before you commit to the grapple. Then, fall in with your crew and attack the pirates to break their morale.
This mission is also your first chance to learn the wall takedown technique—by kicking enemies into boat sides or forcing them off the edges near walls and structures.
Once your first vessel is successfully looted, sail to Salt Key Bank. It’s located southwest of Nassau. When you dock, speak with the Harbour Master to upgrade the Jackdaw’s Hull. The upgrade costs 1000 Reales.
With the added armor on the Jackdaw, you’ll be able to take on more ships. Completing this upgrade is what brings the “Prizes and Plunder” mission to its conclusion.
Before you move on, it’s worth picking up the Salt Key Bank Viewpoint so you can return quickly later to collect everything you may have missed. It’s situated in the southeast area, tucked just behind the Harbour Master.
