Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Remastered: Best Ways to Heal Fast

A pirate’s life is all risk and bruises, and Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced makes sure you’ll need ways to recover when things go south. If you’re wondering how to heal quickly during missions or while roaming dangerous waters, here are the main options you can use.

Checklists for Healing

Whether you’re fighting in tight streets or taking on enemies in the open world, you’ll eventually have to patch yourself up. Luckily, the game provides several practical healing methods you can mix and match depending on where you are and what you have access to.

Use Healing Items (Remedies)

To heal with a remedy, press Up on the D-Pad when playing on a controller, or press Z if you’re using a keyboard. Remedies come from your inventory, so they’re your go-to when you want a predictable recovery.

That said, you can only carry three remedies at a time. The good news is that refilling that small stack isn’t difficult if you know where to look.

  • You can sometimes spot remedies left out in the world on crates or tables, especially in populated areas.
  • General stores sell remedies for 100 reales each.
  • Buying remedies isn’t usually recommended unless you’re truly in a pinch, since exploration tends to refill your supply without much trouble.

Eat or Drink for Emergency Recovery

Food and drinks are another way to recover, and they’re often available in the same places you might find remedies—like crates, barrels, or tables—particularly in areas where enemies tend to spawn.

When you’re near edible items, they’ll show up with your eagle vision, so it’s worth turning that on if you need an instant heal during a fight.

Once you interact with food or drink in the world, you’ll heal immediately for a bit—most useful when your health bar isn’t already full. If you’re traveling outside of towns and don’t have supplies handy, you can also eat berries from bushes to get healing while you’re away from civilization.
