Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Remastered adds another step to Edward Kenway’s main-story momentum with the mission “Now Hiring,” set in September 1715 as he sails to Nassau to reconnect with familiar faces and rebuild his crew.

Quest overview: “Now Hiring”

“Now Hiring” is the ninth mission in the main campaign of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Remastered. The job: secure new crew members by heading to Nassau. In this walkthrough-style breakdown, you’ll find the route for completing the quest, plus practical advice for handling combat and what collectibles to grab along the way.

Go to Nassau and start the mission

To begin, sail to Nassau. Once you dock, make your way to the Old Avery to catch up with your contacts. After that, follow Anne Bonny toward the gallows to set up the next rescue and recruitment push.

From there, head southeast to rescue the pirates nearby. If you want an extra reward while you’re in the area, climb the tower during this stretch to obtain the Viewpoint.

After taking the Viewpoint, drop back down and move east to find more pirates at the gallows. This portion of the fight against two Soldiers is where the game teaches quickfire techniques: use R2/RT and Triangle/Y to quickly take down Captains and brutes.

Once you’ve helped those two pirates, a woman will approach and explain that a man is about to be hanged. Follow her north to locate the pirate with a noose around his neck.

To save him, aim at the rope and shoot it to remove the noose, then clear out the remaining soldiers.

After reviving the final pirate, return to the Old Avery. You’ll then talk with Kidd about the Observatory, and the mission will conclude.

Before you leave the Old Avery behind, don’t skip a nearby collectible: go to the south side and pick up the Data File.
