How to Unlock the Martial Monk Outfit in Crimson Desert (Update 1.13)
Crimson Desert’s 1.13 update has added a new monk-themed clothing set: the Martial Monk outfit. It’s a lightweight cloth look built for players who want to lean into hand-to-hand fighting, including story-locked pieces that arrive later in the campaign. If you’re specifically chasing the full set, you’ll want to know which items are tied to Chapter 9.

- The set is designed for roleplay as monks and focuses on hand-to-hand combat.

Before you go hunting, here’s the full lineup of the Martial Monk gear in Crimson Desert. There are four separate items, each with its own requirement.
All Martial Monk Outfit Set Piece Locations in Crimson Desert
There are four pieces of the Martial Monk outfit in Crimson Desert:
Martial Artist’s Cloth Garb
Earn it by completing Goyen’s Advice Training Challenge: Steel Grip Against the Chest. The objective is to defeat 3 opponents within 1 minute using wrestling techniques.
Martial Monk’s Cloth Gloves & Boots
Get these by finishing the Chapter 9: Path of the Disciple quest in the Six Statues and the Beast category.
Martial Monk’s Cloth Robe
Unlock it by defeating T’rukan during the Chapter 9: True Strength quest, also in the Six Statues and the Beast category.
If you already met the requirements for different parts of this armor set in your save file before the 1.13 update went live, those items will be delivered automatically to your Private Storage the next time you continue your playthrough.
How to Get Martial Artist’s Cloth Garb
The Martial Artist’s Cloth Garb is awarded for completing Goyen’s Advice Training – Steel Grip Against the Chest. For this challenge, you’ll need to defeat 3 opponents within 1 minute using wrestling-based moves.
The Sealed Abyss Artifact tied to the challenge is located west of the Sanctum of Penitence, just southeast of Pororin Village. Once you’re ready, stick strictly to wrestling skills like Clothesline, Body Slam, and Dropkick to bring enemies down.
To avoid accidentally swapping into a weapon hit mid-fight, it’s recommended to switch to gloves in your weapon wheel before you start the challenge.
How to Get Martial Monk’s Cloth Gloves & Boots
To obtain the Martial Monk’s Cloth Gloves and the Martial Monk Cloth Boots, you’ll need to advance Crimson Desert’s story until Chapter 9: The Sage of the Desert. Eventually, this progression unlocks the Six Statues and the Beast quest category.
For those quests, you’ll travel to the Jijeong temple south of Demeniss and carry out a chain of objectives. Specifically, complete “Morning Fog,” “Jijeong Temple in Chaos,” and “Path to Enlightenment.”
After finishing those, you unlock the “Path of the Disciple” quest. Completing it grants both the Martial Monk Gloves and the Martial Monk Cloth Boots as rewards.
How to Get Martial Monk’s Cloth Robe
The Martial Monk’s Cloth Robe comes from a Chapter 9 boss fight: defeat T’rukan in the Chapter 9 quest, True Strength. True Strength follows directly after Path of the Disciple, and it becomes available automatically once its prerequisites are satisfied.
Also note that the Martial Monk’s Cloth Robe is a chest piece, just like the Martial Artist’s Cloth Garb. You can equip only one chest item from this pair at a time.
