Last Chance on Steam: Get 2025 Co-Op The First Foreigner Free Until July 10
Steam players can currently download the 2025 co-op title The First Foreigner for absolutely nothing. Even though it’s not running as part of Valve’s typical Free to Keep rotation, the developer says the game will switch to a paid version on July 10—meaning there’s a narrow window to grab it and keep it in your library at no cost.

Steam’s free giveaways are a big reason PC libraries can grow without constant spending. Most of the time this happens through the Free to Keep program, where a rotating set of games becomes available to claim for free. One catch: Valve doesn’t provide advance announcements for new Free to Keep drops, so players usually need to watch closely to catch what’s live. At the time of writing, there are reportedly no titles currently available under the Free to Keep promotion.
Separately, there are also reports that the Steam Machine hardware is running into serious trouble. Some users claim they’re seeing a red “line of death” display that effectively bricks the system.

- Free access ends on July 10, when the game moves to a paid model
Korean developer CYG says the 2025 free-to-play co-op game The First Foreigner will be transitioned to a paid setup on July 10, coinciding with a major update. That same update is also set to add English-language support, since the game is currently only available in Korean. The developer’s approach here is to give players time to prepare: anyone who adds the free version to their library before July 10 should be able to keep playing after the switch. While the final price hasn’t been confirmed, the cost won’t matter to anyone who claims it during the free window.

On Steam, early feedback for The First Foreigner shows that 90% of reviews are positive, though the total count is small—just 40 reviews. The premise is straightforward but has a playful edge: it’s a co-op game where players must communicate with people who don’t speak their language. Rather than relying on actual dialogue, you describe words using objects in your environment, and your partner has to figure out what you’re trying to convey. The mechanic is also constrained by a timer, which adds pressure and creates a limited window to advance to the next stage.
Co-op games built around communication and improvisation have been picking up momentum recently, and the community has even started calling them “friendslop.” Titles such as REPO and Peak helped kick off the trend last year, and it’s continued into 2026 with more breakout hits like Meccha Chameleon.
Free Game Giveaways
It’s easy to assume PC gaming has to be pricey, but Steam’s free lineup shows how players can assemble a meaningful collection without opening their wallet. Over the next two months, there are currently four games listed for Steam’s Free to Keep promotion, though that schedule is often expanded over time with additional surprise additions.
