Jujutsu Kaisen: All Domains Capable of Beating Ryomen Sukuna

In Jujutsu Kaisen, few threats feel as absolute as Ryomen Sukuna—an infamous sorcerer-turned-Cursed Spirit whose reign of terror has powered the story’s toughest fights. Dubbed the King of Curses, Sukuna has remained a looming, overwhelming problem since the series began, often outmatching even the strongest combatants.

Still, final-battle events proved he wasn’t untouchable. Multiple Domain Expansions—used under the right conditions—could have crippled or even ended Sukuna, even if not every option guarantees his defeat. The manga’s outcome ultimately came down to specific protections, but the list below highlights characters whose Domain concepts (or signature techniques inside Domains) could have turned the tables.

Somehow, a handful of powerful figures managed to walk away alive despite facing the most dangerous Domain-level opponent in the series.

9 Gojo’s Infinite Void Would Have Defeated Sukuna Easily

Gojo Satoru’s Infinite Void is frequently treated by fans as the most oppressive Domain Expansion in the franchise. The setup depends on Gojo’s extreme command of Cursed Energy, plus the near-limitless supply enabled by his Limitless technique. That combination creates a tiny pocket of space where the target can’t escape.

Once inside, the opponent’s mind gets hammered by a nonstop stream of information they can’t process. Surviving it generally requires both strong mental resilience and a massive pool of Cursed Energy to prevent the mind from breaking or collapsing under the strain. In the manga, Sukuna only managed to counter it by using Megumi’s soul as a kind of shield—meaning that without that protection, he likely wouldn’t have endured the technique.

8 Womb Profusion Is Both Powerful and Horrific

Womb Profusion stands out among the 15 Domain Expansions shown in the original run of the story, mixing mystery with outright horror. The Domain is associated with Kenjaku, and it functions by bringing forth a tree-like entity built out of human faces and limbs.

The creature is released from four humanoid forms whose stomachs have been cut open, giving the Domain direct access to the outside world. It’s not just grotesque; it’s also brutally dangerous. The technique unleashes direct, unavoidable assaults that crush the opponent with overwhelming force and leave them in critical condition. If Kenjaku successfully cast it, Sukuna would have had very little room to work with.

7 A Full-Powered Chimera Shadow Garden Could Grant Megumi Victory

Megumi Fushiguro has long been framed as a prodigy, and he’s also one of the rare figures capable of using the Zenin Clan’s Ten Shadows technique. That ability lets the user summon and control a variety of animal-like Shikigami for combat, and it’s widely viewed as a path to a major power jump on its own.

Of course, matching what the series’ top-tier sorcerers can do becomes even more dangerous when they bring their strongest tools into play.

Although the story never fully showcases its peak, Megumi can also summon a Domain Expansion called Chimera Shadow Garden, an evolution of Ten Shadows. By coating the battlefield with a slick, shadowy substance, Megumi can call multiple Shikigami at once without relying on hand signs. Enemies who fall into the abyss get trapped and consumed by the deep darkness. In its maximum form, the Domain could be enough to overwhelm and defeat Sukuna.

6 Self-Embodiment of Perfection Does Not Target the Body, Bypassing Sukuna’s Defenses

Self-Embodiment of Perfection is Mahito’s Domain Expansion—created from the embodiment of human fear and hatred. Unlike many Domain techniques that follow familiar expectations, this one doesn’t operate under the same rule set. Like other Domains, it acts as an extension of the user’s innate abilities, but Mahito’s version ties into Idle Transfiguration, which is especially dangerous because it can bypass defenses and strike the soul directly.

Instead of trying to overpower the opponent with brute-force damage or unavoidable slashes, the Domain creates a confined space where Mahito can manipulate trapped souls without needing physical contact. Sukuna wasn’t affected in the manga because he was inside Yuji’s soul at the time Sukuna’s vessel was captured—his soul, in that situation, would not have been able to defend itself the same way.

5 Yuta’s Authentic Mutual Love Has Unlimited Potential

Yuta Okotsu’s Copy is often described as one of the most overpowered abilities in the Jujutsu Kaisen universe because it carries nearly unlimited possibilities. By having his Shikigami, Rika, consume part of a person’s body, Yuta can learn and then use their innate techniques.

The drawback is that he can only run one copied technique at a time, and he has just five minutes before Rika needs to recharge. His Domain, Authentic Mutual Love, removes that restriction by creating an expansive arena filled with katanas, each linked to a different technique Yuta can access immediately. He can also choose a copied ability to turn into a guaranteed hit option, with Angel’s Jacob Ladder cited as an example.

Sukuna did manage to win against this Domain during the final confrontation, but the fact that it was able to seriously harm him suggests that a more seasoned Yuta might have been able to secure the victory by the end.

4 Higuruma’s Deadly Sentencing Would Have Won Under Normal Circumstances

Domain Expansions are often depicted as reflections of their caster’s technique and soul. That framing made it unsurprising that Higuruma’s cursed technique and Domain revolve around the idea of bringing judgment into reality. Deadly Sentencing materializes as a dark, empty courtroom trial where the opponent gets judged based on how severe their crimes are.

Inside the Domain, violence against other participants is shut down entirely. The reason is that it strips away Cursed Energy from everyone trapped within. If the target is found guilty, they receive punishment scaled to the seriousness of their actions—up to instant death delivered by the Executioner’s Blade. The mechanism works because the Domain removes the guilty party’s innate technique.

Sukuna avoided this fate only because, during the trial, he was holding a cursed weapon—something that changed how the situation played out.

3 Yuji’s Domain Would Be Overwhelmingly Powerful Once Completed

Yuji Itadori’s Domain Expansion first appears during the climax of the battle against Sukuna. It’s presented as a fantastical and intricate technique that hasn’t been fully studied or explained in every detail yet. Itadori opens the Domain by recreating his hometown, giving him a window to appeal to his opponent’s humanity. Early on, violence inside the Domain appears to be suppressed or nullified to some degree, since Sukuna doesn’t immediately try to escape as soon as the Domain is activated.

The implication is that Yuji can further develop a stronger version of his Domain Expansion. That upgraded Domain would push Blood Manipulation to a new level within JJK.

Inside the Domain, Yuji can use his Dismantle technique without needing to touch the target, removing the primary restriction built into his innate ability. What makes this Domain especially dangerous is that Itadori’s Dismantle doesn’t aim at the body—it focuses on the soul. Sukuna was removed from Megumi the first time Yuji used this approach, suggesting that if Itadori refines the Domain with experience, he could potentially dismantle opponents completely.

2 Yuki’s Domain Could Hypothetically Surpass Sukuna’s Power

Yuki Tsukumo is portrayed as the strongest woman fighter in Jujutsu Kaisen, a force of nature with a near-unstoppable presence. She’s classified as one of the few Special Grade sorcerers in the series, and she has complete command over gravity and mass thanks to her innate technique, Star Rage.

With Star Rage, she can add imaginary mass to herself or to anything she touches. That mass can be pushed to the point where the object collapses inward, creating a localized black hole effect.

As a Special Grade sorcerer, Yuki should have access to a Domain Expansion, even though it was never shown in the story. Still, by analyzing her innate technique, it’s implied that her ultimate Domain attack would be devastating to an opponent. While it’s not guaranteed, the idea is that an attack of that scale—coming from one of history’s most powerful sorcerers—could be enough to knock Sukuna out of commission.

1 Otherworld Between Darkness and Light: Reverse Transcendence Was Strong Enough to Stop Mahoraga

Otherworld Between Darkness and Light: Reverse Transcendence arrives during the climax of the sequel arc to the Jujutsu Kaisen manga series. Its name is tied to Modulo, which is Dabura’s ultimate attack and is widely treated as one of the strongest, most mind-bending Domain Expansions in the franchise.

The Domain is built by merging a barrier technique from the Simurian race with Reverse Cursed Technique training Dabura has learned. It creates a continuous struggle inside the Domain between the target and Dabura’s sure-hit attacks.

It was designed specifically to counter Mahoraga’s adaptability and to end the fight as quickly as possible. Even though the exact mechanics aren’t fully explained, the Domain proved effective enough to bring the Divine General closer to defeat than ever—so much so that the last stretch of the battle felt possible for someone other than Gojo.

That success is why many fans believe the raw power on display could be more than enough to finally end Sukuna.
