The Sims 4 June 30, 2026 Patch Rolls Out With 70+ Fixes and Improvements

The June 30, 2026 patch for The Sims 4 is live, and it’s a big one: the update includes 70+ fixes focused on bugs, performance improvements, and quality-of-life changes across multiple packs and platforms. While most players will notice the smoother day-to-day gameplay, several of the most meaningful updates target long-running pain points like infinite loading, Live Mode notification spam, and Mac-specific stability.

Why this patch matters: fewer “can’t play” moments

Some patches are mostly cosmetic—this one is aimed at keeping your saves and sessions stable. The headline improvement on the Mac side is a reduction in an “Infinite Load” situation by changing where Scratch files are stored.

For Mac users, the developers adjusted how Scratch files are handled, moving them from Documents to AppData for PC players to avoid conflicts with cloud backup services. The stated result is fewer occurrences of the Infinite Load scenario.

  • Infinite loading reports get addressed, including save-corruption cases tied to certain Gallery lot placements.
  • Live Mode notification noise is reduced, with more precise rules for who calls and when.
  • Marketplace purchasing becomes clearer, with price transparency and a streamlined “Buy” flow.
  • Multiple gameplay systems are stabilized, from CAS and Build Mode access to event and occult-related crashes.

Live Mode and phone calls get real guardrails

The biggest “player feel” change is in Live Mode, where Sims notifications and phone-call behavior has been tightened up. The patch adds new controls and then applies a series of rules to stop irrelevant or repetitive interruptions.

Festival notification controls

A new Festival Notifications section has been added to the Game Options menu. It lets players decide which Festivals they receive notifications for, pack by pack.

More accurate calling rules in Live Mode

  • The “Silence Phone” button has been updated to support newer content, giving players better control over notifications. It’s intended to properly block all phone calls (Base Game).
  • Dating advice calls are now limited: only Friends will call you for dating guidance (Base Game).
  • Related to that, Neighborhood Stories calls now require Sims to be at least friends before reaching out.
  • Sims in the Freelancer career will no longer receive gig calls or pop-ups from careers they aren’t actually in (Base Game).
  • To invite Sims to a Festival or Getaway, Sims now need to be Friendly first, adding more story context to these calls (multiple packs).
  • Stay Over calls can now happen more than once. They may occur any time after 14 days pass from the initial call, and the change is retroactive for old saves (Growing Together).
  • Sims that are currently on the lot will stop calling to ask about your adult Sim’s childhood for the Formative Moments feature (Adventure Awaits).
  • Grim Reaper will only call to offer a job if they are Macabre (Life & Death).
  • Some repetitive phone calls have been removed based on community feedback from Reddit, Discord, and the EA Forums. Players will no longer receive:
    • “Hey, I heard you became friends with [SimName]! [He/She]’s pretty cool!” (Get Together)
    • “Hey, I heard you became enemies with [SimName]. That [guy/girl] is a jerk!” (Get Together)
    • “Hey, I heard you and [SimName] are good friends now. You’re getting more popular – clearly you’re a good person to know!” (Get Famous)
  • Earbuds can still be purchased from the computer, but reminders won’t be sent.
  • The frequency of dancing and Bar Night invitations from other Sims has been decreased (Get Together).
  • Bess Sterling will no longer call as quickly or as frequently (Eco Lifestyle).
  • How often players receive Community Closeness Calls has been decreased (Eco Lifestyle).
  • The “Come check out ThrifTea!” TNS notification reminder has been removed (High School Years).
  • Romance-related phone call frequency has been decreased (Lovestruck).
  • The discovery quest for “Starting a Dynasty” should now trigger only once per save (Royalty & Legacy).
  • Invite frequency from other Sims has been decreased across multiple packs.

Marketplace flexibility and better buying clarity

On PC, Mac, and Xbox, the patch improves how Marketplace purchases display pricing and how the purchase flow works for Maker Packs and Kits.

  • Price transparency is improved with a simplified purchase flow. When you click the new “Buy” button in the Marketplace, the game will automatically redeem the nearest Moola amount for the selected Kit or Maker Pack.
  • To support this, “Buy” also introduces 9 new Moola offer options: 300, 400, 600, 700, 800, 900, 1100, 1200, and 1300.

Bug fixes across packs, with specific CAS, Gallery, and UI stability

The patch includes a long list of fixes spanning visuals, interactions, and system-level issues. Several are particularly relevant to builders, Gallery users, and anyone who spends time in Create-a-Sim (CAS).

  • Windows and doors now render correctly and stay aligned with walls across graphics settings (Low, Medium, High) without clipping or visual glitches.
  • A case where partnered Sims could form an inappropriate relationship after leaving Create a Sim has been fixed. The fix is not retroactive for saves where the relationship already changed, but it is retroactive for older saves where the change hadn’t happened yet.
  • The game no longer gets stuck on the thumbnail UI if a user clicks a Gallery item after changing filters while navigating with a controller.
  • On Xbox and PlayStation, a soft lock when downloading tattoos from the Gallery has been fixed.
  • An endless loading issue (including save corruption) that could happen when placing certain Gallery lots has been addressed.
  • Sims with the Vicious Dynasty Ideal will no longer autonomously perform Mean interactions. Players can still trigger Mean socials manually, and those actions still grant Prestige Points.
  • A bug where Child Sims could be automatically added to a Dynasty has been fixed, along with repeated “Joined Dynasty” notifications when entering or leaving Create-a-Sim (Royalty & Legacy).
  • Doctors can once again interact properly with patients and use the “Deliver Food” interaction (Get to Work).
  • Sims can once again adopt Cats and Dogs (Cats & Dogs).
  • The “Feel the Love” interaction now works properly on a cat or small dog (Cats & Dogs).
  • Sims can once again bathe small dogs (Cats & Dogs).
  • Actors on a Get Famous gig can complete the Hair and Makeup task again.

Platform-focused updates: Mac, consoles, and pack-specific fixes

Beyond general fixes, the patch includes platform-specific work and targeted pack corrections.

Mac Update

  • Rendering backend synchronization on Mac has been improved, addressing some graphical flickering that happened when players manually disabled SSAO in the SGR file.

Occult Fixes

  • A handful of visual and crashing issues involving occult content have been addressed.

Island Living

  • Old saves where Merfolk tails were missing are fixed. To correct what you see, the affected Sims must be taken into Create-a-Sim once so the tail returns.

Enchanted by Nature

  • Fairy Wings will remain visible after traveling to other lots; the fix is retroactive.
  • Fairies with modified skin tone will no longer crash the game after repeatedly switching forms or appearance modifiers.
  • In Live Mode, switching from Fairy form to normal form when the forms are unlinked will no longer cause the normal Sim to inherit the Fairy skin tone.

Werewolves

  • Custom Werewolves from existing saves can again apply Nose Swatch Colors in Create-a-Sim.
  • Werewolf nose color options no longer reset when a Teen Werewolf goes to school, returns home, and then enters Create-a-Sim using a mirror.

Console Update

  • On PlayStation, Create-a-Sim and Build Mode catalogs can now be sorted by pack.
  • On Xbox, Sims won’t be prompted to restart after purchasing Moola following the download of another pack.
  • On Xbox, players will be prompted to restart after downloading an Expansion Pack or Game Pack, which is required for the new content to appear in-game.

General bug fixes, including CAS/build issues, collections, and scheduling

  • Stacked items no longer get stuck on the cursor when moving them into a Sim’s inventory.
  • Improvements were made to several Base Layer assets, including:
    • Split gender versions of the Turtleneck to improve neck texture quality.
    • Split gender versions of the underwear bra asset to improve texture quality.
    • Tweaks to yfAcc_BaseLayerBodySuit_CapPink, LongWine, and TankWhite textures to remove a breast shadow for gender neutrality.
  • Couple Sims won’t only perform the “Kiss” interaction autonomously.
  • The New Items icon no longer reappears in Build Mode for items you’ve already seen.
  • Household Sims no longer get mislabeled as a “Neighbor”, which previously prevented door use.
  • A simulation error that caused Appliances and Sinks to break repeatedly despite repair, travel, or time passing has been fixed.
  • The Partner relationship no longer resets back to a generic Household member after re-entering Create-a-Sim.
  • A nighttime issue around 2–3 AM that could leave Sims stuck and unable to be swapped has been fixed.
  • Exiting Build Mode no longer risks making UI, Options, and interactions inaccessible due to problems related to work schedules. The fix applies to older saves.
  • Sims no longer obsessively inspect Frog or insect collections, including the Noble Frog.
  • Infinite Loading triggered when loading Create-a-Sim through an unloaded Sim via the Simology Panel has been fixed.
  • An assert related to stairs has been fixed when an object is deleted using the Sledgehammer Tool after purchasing a Styled Room.
  • If a Sim travels to a Community Lot and uses a mirror to plan an outfit in Create-a-Sim, closing CAS now returns the Sim to the Community Lot correctly instead of sending them back to their home lot.
  • Active Sims now get a small daily idle once per day before they receive the Energized buff (it’s the Create-a-Sim Active Trait selection animation).

Multiple

  • “There are Sims who can be Duplicated” has been fixed through several adjustments:
    • Rahul can no longer become duplicated as the “Grocery Delivery” Sim (Cottage Living).
    • NPCs Raheel Kunal (Adventure Awaits) and Zhaleh Amani (Enchanted by Nature) can no longer be married, moved in with, or proposed to. They are unique NPCs for specific roles, and allowing those actions caused duplicate Sims.
    • Buddy Scoop now follows his schedule (10 AM to 8 PM) and won’t reappear with different names in the Relationship panel (Adventure Awaits).
  • Multiple objects no longer get stuck inside a Sim’s inventory and can’t be placed back into the world with drag-and-drop.
  • Worlds no longer appear twice on the world selection screen.

Events

  • The game no longer gets stuck when a Sim performs “Fan Self” using the Fluttering Hand Fan during the Lady Bridgerton’s Masquerade Ball event.

City Living

  • Ceiling visuals are corrected for adjacent apartments when using Cutaway/Walls Down view options.

Cats & Dogs

  • A pet texture issue is fixed: pets no longer receive a Black Texture after spending a day at a Vet Clinic, though the fix is not retroactive for saves where it already occurred.

Seasons

  • Wants and Fears related to Father Winter no longer show up when Wants and Fears are turned off in Options.

Growing Together

  • Infants now unlock the “First Visit to a Family Member’s Home” milestone properly.
  • Sleep now reduces the duration of the “Mental Fog” buff (and all other dazed moodlets). The description for the Mental Fog buff has also been updated to: “[SimName] is starting to feel woozy from his/her/their mental load. Maybe [he/she/they] should get a good night’s sleep before things get worse.”

Horse Ranch

  • An animation problem involving hands has been fixed when the Mysterious Rancher Sim tries to close an umbrella during a thunderstorm.

For Rent

  • Rent details now display correctly in the Bills & Utilities panel.
  • Rent pricing inaccuracies are corrected where Residential Rentals could show 0 for “Current Billing Estimate.”
  • Rent calculation is corrected so it doesn’t decrease over time.
  • Objects inside Multi-Unit Residential Rentals can now be interacted with properly, and the game won’t crash after switching households.

High School Years

  • An assert that could occur when clicking a reaction emoji has been fixed.

Royalty & Legacy

  • A report about Sims becoming muscular “for no reason” has been handled. Sims with the Doctrine of Vitality are meant to build muscle over time, and the text has been updated to make the intended behavior clearer.
  • The Geek trait now shows a single positive value when compared to the Scholarly Dynasty Ideal.
  • The Ballroom dance animation is adjusted to prevent hand clipping when the partner switch section ends.

Outdoor Retreat

  • A simulation error is fixed that could happen when using “Put in Inventory” on the Gordian Cot or Airkushn Single.

Tagging fixes for build mode sorting and item categories

  • (pfHair_SDX033AfroPuffsOmbre) now sorts into the correct hair length category in Create-a-Sim.
  • (yfAcc_ManiNatural_SolidDirt) and (ymAcc_ManiNatural_SolidDirt) no longer show up duplicated in Create-a-Sim.
  • Appliances from Cats & Dogs now appear in both the Misc and Show All categories.
  • The Moarpillaz Love Seat now sorts under Loveseats in Build Mode.

Eco Lifestyle

  • (sitSofa3x1_EP09GENslats) now sorts into the Outdoor Furniture category in Build Mode.
  • Child hair items (cmHair_EP14AfroTapered) and (cmHair_EP14CornrowsLong) are now also available for Female Children when the feminine filter is removed.

Spa Day

  • The following chairs now sort into the Misc Comfort category in Build Mode:
    • Relaxo Deluxe Chair by Happy Hands and Feet Co.
    • Relaxed Chair by Happy Hands and Feet Co.
    • Relax-N-Go Chair by Happy Hands and Feet Co.
  • (sitLoveseat2x1_GP12GENmoss) now sorts into both the Misc Comfort and Outdoor Furniture categories in Build Mode.

Tea Time Solarium

  • (lightwall_SP77GEN) now sorts correctly only under the Lights category in Build Mode.
  • The Botanical Beacon light now sorts under Wall Lights only.
