Disney Lorcana is getting closer to its next set, Attack of the Vine, and the latest official card reveal doubles down on the Turning Red story arc. After the Lorecast teased a batch of new additions, seven more cards have surfaced—bringing additional Turning Red characters, plus a new action and the set’s featured song.

All seven of these cards come from Turning Red, which is making its Disney Lorcana debut in Attack of the Vine. Earlier looks during the Lorecast already highlighted Ming Lee, Popular Red Panda, and Meilin Lee, Lead Vocalist. This new batch expands the roster with five more character cards, one action, and one song.

Six new Turning Red cards are confirmed for Attack of the Vine, and the reveal list includes the following names:

  • Ming Lee, Proud Parent
  • Ming Lee, Giant Red Panda
  • 4* Town, Hottest Band of the Year
  • Meilin Lee, Superficially Obedient
  • Ming Lee, Overprotective Parent
  • Besties Assemble
  • I’m Never Not By Your Side

Alongside the new cards, Turning Red introduces a brand-new gameplay mechanic called Temporary Shift. Instead of forcing a permanent transformation, Temporary Shift lets characters from the film shift into and out of their panda forms within the flow of a match.

Temporary Shift works by letting you place a card with the ability over a card whose name matches what the ability calls for. For example, Ming Lee, Giant Red Panda normally costs nine ink, but with Temporary Shift you can pay seven ink to place it over a card named Ming Lee.

At the end of your turn, you remove all damage from the transformed card and return Ming Lee, Giant Red Panda to your hand. From there, you can either play it again using the Temporary Shift cost or fully cast it at its standard ink value.

With the mechanic explained, here’s what each newly revealed card does and how it fits into a Attack of the Vine deck.

Ming Lee, Giant Red Panda

Ming Lee, Giant Red Panda is the headline Temporary Shift payoff. If you cast her normally, she costs nine ink, but she enters play as a massive 10/10 character. Whenever she challenges another character, you may ready her; if you do, she can’t quest for the remainder of the turn.

Even though the ink cost is steep, the Temporary Shift approach is meant to make her more resilient. You can bounce her in and out of play to disrupt your opponent’s plans while still applying heavy pressure. She only quests for two lore points, so she’s best used as a challenger to clear out major questing or challenging threats on the other side.

Ming Lee, Overprotective Parent

Ming Lee, Overprotective Parent is designed to work alongside Ming Lee, Giant Red Panda. She costs four ink to cast and can’t be used as ink in your inkwell.

As a 3/3 glimmer, she has You’re Grounded. When you shift a character on top of her, you may choose one of your opponent’s exerted characters. That chosen character won’t ready for their next turn.

In practice, it’s a tempo tool to keep your opponent’s most important exerted pieces from coming back online immediately. If you can trigger it multiple times through Temporary Shift, it can snowball into a persistent headache for their next turn plan. She can also quest for two lore points.

Ming Lee, Proud Parent

The next glimmer is Ming Lee, Proud Parent, a 2/3 character costing three ink with two abilities. The first, Biggest Fan, reduces the cost of playing her by one ink if you already have a card named Meilin Lee in play.

The second ability, Follow The Music, rewards song turns. If you played a song during the same turn, you can pay one less ink to play Ming Lee, Proud Parent. That means if Meilin Lee is in play and you’ve played a song, she can be put onto the board for just one ink. Like the other Ming Lee options here, she can quest for two lore points.

Meilin Lee, Superficially Obedient

Meilin Lee, Superficially Obedient is the next character card in the reveal set. She costs two ink, is a 2/3, and can quest for one lore point.

Her key mechanic is Newfound Confidence, which triggers when you shift a character onto her. When that happens, she gains Evasive until the start of your next turn.

Remember that Evasive doesn’t make her untouchable—Evasive only changes which characters are allowed to challenge her. She can still be targeted by actions, so it’s protection with limits rather than a guaranteed shield.

Besties Assemble

Besties Assemble is the action card in this reveal. It costs one ink, or you can use it as ink by placing it in your inkwell.

When played, you look at the top four cards of your deck. You may reveal a character card and add it to your hand. The remaining cards are then sent to the bottom of your deck in any order.

Because the reveal-and-add happens only when you want it, you aren’t forced to take a card. If you find a character that doesn’t fit your needs, you can simply leave it unrevealed and put all four cards on the bottom of your deck.

I’m Never Not By Your Side

The set’s song card is I’m Never Not By Your Side, which costs five ink to cast and can also be used as ink when needed. It has Sing Together 5, which means any number of your characters with a combined cost of five or more may exert to sing the song for free.

Effect-wise, the song lets you remove up to four total damage across any number of your characters. For each point of damage cleared this way, you gain one lore—turning defense into immediate progress.

4*Town, Hottest Band of the Year

The final character card in this reveal is 4*Town, Hottest Band of the Year. It costs four ink, has 5/5 stats, and comes with Singer 5, meaning it counts as cost five when singing songs.

It also has Star Performance: whenever this character sings a song, you draw a card.

Like other characters built around singing, it can’t be used as ink. It can also quest for one lore point, but its best role is setting up song turns—especially when you want to sing I’m Never Not By Your Side and turn that combo into extra lore and card draw.
